Day 1

personal attitudes about whether you would make any changes if you could relive
your life. 2) Discussion on pretest
Classwork: Dictionary work, find the ten vocabulary words and list their
definitions. Use each word correctly in a sentence.

Day 2
Classroom Activity:
1) Complete the symbolism work sheet.
2) Homework: Do the multiple choice and vocabulary activity sheets.

Day 3
Classroom Activity: Go on the World Wide Web to research Nathaniel
Hawthorne, the author of Dr. Heidegger's Experiment. Use your research
information to write a one paragraph report on him.

Day 4

2) Complete the Literary Theme worksheet.

Day 5
Classroom Activity: Complete the worksheet that will help develop an essay on
Youth and Aging. Use the answers to write a short essay about youth and aging.
Structure your essay so that you answer these questions: How does society
value youth and old age? What might be a healthier attitude toward aging?
Have a classmate proofread your essay.
Homework: Proofread your essay and bring it to final draft form so that you can
type it using Microsoft Word.

Day 6
Classroom Activity:
1) Type your essay using Microsoft Word.
2) Gather information on Scientific Technologies for Prolonging Life.

Day 7
Classroom Activity: Receive direct instruction on creating a presentation using
Power Point. Review all worksheets, web searches, and story information as you
create your Power Point presentation. Be sure to answer the question: If you
were old, would you choose to be young again?

Day 8-10
1) Post test on vocabulary words.
2) Present your Power Point creation.
