Objectives:

Instructions: Welcome to Week 11 of the online U.S. Government course! Please complete the
following activities for this week. Make sure that you complete each activity by the time it is
due. Due dates are located at the end of each activity listed below.
(1) Complete Week 11 Pre-Test. Read Chapter 7 Section 1 (pages 202-205). Create a new
document with your Google Drive account and title it Your Name Week 11
Activities. On this new document you will type out each of the Key Terms and
Concepts for Section 1, as well as their definitions. Make sure to label this section
Ch. 7 Vocabulary Terms: Sec 1. Watch the two videos on digital storytelling.
Complete this activity by 11:59pm Monday of Week 11.
(2) Download Windows Movie Maker. View the two videos on how to use Movie Maker.
Read the Digital Story Project instructions. Watch the Constitution for Dummies
videos on the 5th 8th Amendments. Complete this activity by 11:59pm Tuesday of
Week 11.
(3) Read Chapter 7 Section 2 (pages 209-213). In your "Week 11 Activities document,
type out each of the Key Terms and Concepts for Section 2, as well as their
definitions. Make sure to label this section Ch. 7: Vocabulary Terms: Sec 2. Work
on your Digital Story Project. Complete this activity by 11:59pm Wednesday of
Week 11.
(4) Read Chapter 7 Section 3 (pages 214-218). In your "Week 11 Activities document,
type out each of the Key Terms and Concepts for Section 3, as well as their
definitions. Make sure to label this section Ch. 7: Vocabulary Terms: Sec 3. Work

on your Digital Story Project. Complete this activity by 11:59pm Thursday of


Week 11.
(5) Complete your Digital Story Project and upload to your shared folder in Google
Drive. Upload the file to YouTube. Create a new blog post and embed your Digital
Story YouTube video. Create a new blog post and insert your finished Digital Story
video. Visit the Discussion Blog and answer the questions for Week 11. Review your
Week 11 Google Drive document. Complete the Week 11 Post-Test. Complete this
activity by 11:59pm Friday of Week 11.

Discussion Questions:
1. Do you agree with the Supreme Courts creation of the exclusionary rule? Why or why
not?

2. Do you consider the death penalty to be cruel and unusual punishment? Why or why not?
Does Michigan have the death penalty?

3. Throughout our countrys history certain groups of people have been persecuted and
discriminated against. The 14th Amendment was added to the Constitution (in 1868) to
forbid any state to deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the
law. Do you feel that our country has had less persecution and discrimination since the
passing of the 14th Amendment? Why or why not? What proof do you have?
