Special subjects unit- amps the pros and cons of digital,

solid state and valve and how they are designed and
made
A guitar amplifier is a electronic device designed to amplify the
electrical signal of an guitar so that it will produce sound through a
speaker. These amps are usually designed and kept within a wooded
cabinet, which pretexts the speaker and the amp, it self from any
knocks and dings. This also allows the player to keep the amp in
good working order and allows for easy handing when transporting
the amp. A amp may be created in two ways to case the amp. One
is called a guitar head and contains only the electrical part to amply
the sound f the guitar and that other is called a combo which
housed both the wiring and the speaker in one combined system
hens the term (combo),
Most guitar amplifiers can also modify the instrument's tone by
emphasizing or de-emphasizing certain frequencies and adding
electronic effects, typically distortion and reverb. The input of
modern guitar amplifiers is a 1/4" jack, which is fed a signal from a
electro-magnet from the pickup of a guitar. Theses pickups are
made by coiling a metal piece of ire around a magnet thousands of
times which will then create an electromagnetic field between the
pickup and the string allowing the pick up to transmit the sound
form the guitar to the amp.
There are three different types of amps and they al have different
components the 1st amp is a digital modeling amp which runs off
modern day technology to create an amplified sound. The next is a
solid-state amp with runs off transistors and other components to
amplify the sound. Yet another way to make an amp is by using
vales/tubes and these are called valve amps. These run off as
vacuum valve(s) to amplify the instment.
