We will be covering a lot of information in lessons that will be very important to

Scenario/Context
Scenario/Vocational Context
Originally, DJs used vinyl records but today the revolution of technology means that
many DJs use laptops and software packages to cut up tracks, loop sections and add
new parts as part of the live performance. It is important that anyone working as a
club DJ is familiar with the different pieces of equipment commonly used in clubs
and other venues. Write a specification list of DJ equipment for a new club.
Tasks

Grading criterion

A1. Research and select the hardware and software that you will
need to set up a new club with DJ equipment. Make a
specification list and describe the components you have chosen
(e.g. deck, turntables,CD player, amplifier, speakers,
microphones, leads and connectors) Compare your chosen
brands with other types and give clear reason(s) why you have
chosen each item.
Make a start by completing the worksheets given to you then add
evidence to this as you collect it. This will include a diagram of
how the equipment is set up to help explain and justify why you
have chose each item. You could also include manufacturer
pictures and specifications.

A2. Name at least 2 different types of DJs and give a job

description for each. Make a start by completing the worksheets
given to you then add evidence to this as you collect it. Firstly,
you need to identify the types of DJ and where they work. Then
you should go on to explain in more detail and make comparisons
between the different roles.
Additional evidence could include information collected from the
internet about personality DJs and what job they do. You could
look in your local newspaper to find adverts showing DJs for hire.
