returned unmarked. No work will be accepted via email, unless prior agreement
has been made with your course tutor.
3. Final words of advice:
We will be covering a lot of information in lessons that will be very important to
your tasks; it is vital that you take your own notes and keep them safe. This
is true for all of the BTEC units. Plagiarism is the act of passing someone elses
work off as your own. This is a serious disciplinary offence. A Bibliography or
Reference page must be submitted with all sources listed in Harvard Reference
style.
Declaration by candidate
I confirm that the work submitted is the work of the above named student. Any

Scenario/Context
Scenario/Vocational Context
Originally, DJs used vinyl records but today the revolution of technology means that
many DJs use laptops and software packages to cut up tracks, loop sections and add
new parts as part of the live performance. It is important that anyone working as a
club DJ is familiar with the different pieces of equipment commonly used in clubs
and other venues. Write a specification list of DJ equipment for a new club.
Tasks
Grading criterion
A1. Research and select the hardware and software that you will
need to set up a new club with DJ equipment. Make a
specification list and describe the components you have chosen
(e.g. deck, turntables,CD player, amplifier, speakers,
microphones, leads and connectors) Compare your chosen
brands with other types and give clear reason(s) why you have
chosen each item.
Make a start by completing the worksheets given to you then add
evidence to this as you collect it. This will include a diagram of
how the equipment is set up to help explain and justify why you
have chose each item. You could also include manufacturer
pictures and specifications.
