ESS team Meeting 2

Wednesday May 20th

Positive Behavior Intervention Supports

SIW working in 1G has been sending updates to ESS team. Team will have to
contact district ESS team in September about next stages of support.

Update student minutes


-

Student 1 from 2P screener results 12/20 K Math screener. Will look into
having Math support again next year.

Student 2 from 2L screener results 18/20 K screener. Will continue to need


support next year.

Co-teaching update
-

Resource teacher 1 is in grade 4 Writing. Meet with a group of student five


days a week. Teacher and resource teacher are doing mini lessons together
and conferences with specific students.

Resource teacher 2 is working in grade 3 Math. They are working on additive


thinking. Students that in a small group will be given a screener before the
end of the year.

Meeting with start at 1:50 in the Home Ec lab


Each grade level posted their class profile sheet to the portal. As it was each
teachers turn they brought up the corresponding profile sheet.
1. Grade 1T
Behaviour, Academic, other

Went through class profile sheet

Identified three students who were working below grade level.

Students 1, 2 and 3 are struggling with partners to 10. They are seen in a
small group for support by the resource teacher.

Student 1,2, 7,8,9 are reading below grade level. They have been seen four
times a week for guided reading. Student 1,2,9 have been coming in a lunch
to work on phonics as there are a couple of sounds that they are struggling
with

Behavior if student 8 is coming along. They are working on a behavior chart


that seems to have caught on. They have focused on Power cards relating to
his love of Pokemon.

Behaviour of student 12 is not getting better. Have applied for support from
the district ESS team. Will be looking into a behavior support plan

2. Grade 1M
Behaviour, Academic, other
Students 3,6,12,13,15, 19 are not reading at grade level. They have been
behind most of the year. All of these student have been getting guided
reading on a daily basis. Resource teacher 1 and 3 have been working with
this class with co-teaching. They have been breaking these group of students
up for intensive support. Students 6,15,19 are working well but are still a bit
below grade level. Students 3,12,13 are at a level F which is the middle of
grade one. These student will be flagged for support in September.

Students 3,4,6,19 have been struggling with their Math. They are red on the
screener. They have had resource support for term 2 and 3. They will be
flagged for support in the fall.

Class wide reward system is working well.

3. Grade 1 P
Behaviour Academic, other
-

Student 17,19 are working below grade level in Math. They are red on their
screener scores. They have been support by the resource team this term.
Teacher has been working with them at lunch three times a week. They will
be flagged for support for September as well.

Student 7,11 are reading below grade level. Student 7 was reading at a G in
March but teacher will be testing him in June. She feels that he will test near
grade level. She will be giving the running records scores as well as strategies
to next years teacher. Student does not do a great job with stretching snake
and does a better job when you break words down into syllables/chunky
monkey.
