recent affairs of the state of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh has won award for being one of the best-performing states in the sector of renewable energy segment in India.
Principal Secretary of Chhattisgarhs Energy
department, Aman Singh presented this award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the first Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet (REInvest) 2015 held in New Delhi.
The state was adjudged this award on the basis of
criteria fixed by 13th Finance Commission headed by Vijay Kelkar. In Chhattisgarh, the sector of renewable energy sector has done commendable work.
Now the plans are being implemented for the
utilisation of solar power in 600 primary health centre,100 community health centre,350 police stations,1800 tribal hostels,27 collectorates and 1,700 villages of the state.
There are a number of villages in Chhattisgarh which
are utilising 3,000 solar power pumps for drinking water and 1,500 for irrigation purpose. Through the rice husk, the state is generating 200 MW and 45 MW off grid solar power.
The Union Government has approved various highway
projects in states of Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh worth over Rs 8,600 crore.
The work for these approved road projects will be
under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-V.
This decision was taken by Cabinet Committee
on Economic Affairs (CCEA) chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chhattisgarh Samanya Gyan deals with the
development of four to six laning of the RaipurBilaspur section of National Highway. The cost is estimated to be Rs 1,963.88 crore and total length of the road will be approximately 127 kms.
The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA)
has given in-principle approval for creation of Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla tiger reserve in Chhattisgarh.
Guru Ghasidas national park lies between two important
tiger reserves-Bandhavgarh (Madhya Pradesh) and Palamau (Jharkhand) which is also contiguous with the Sanjay-Dubri tiger reserve (Madhya Pradesh).
An empowered committee headed by the state
Chief Secretary will be constituted to examine the documents pertaining to the tenders for development of road infrastructure in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh Samanya Gyan also deals with the
details regarding the road development works in Chhattisgarh; the decision was taken during the meeting of Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation (CGRDC) chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh.
