Urology Nurse
Responsibilities included ensuring all patients were properly cared for and
necessary supplies were ready for all patients needs. Sterilizing equipment
for procedures, including cystoscopies was imperative to the proper care
of all patients. Verifying that the Uroflow machine was operating
appropriately and effectively for patients use. Setting up sterile fields for
procedures and assisting physician as needed. Interviewing each patient
and helping them to feel as comfortable as possible while they were in
my care was important to build a strong and trusting relationship. Lab
orders were carried out and medication administration was fulfilled
appropriately. BCG treatments were administered with appropriate care
for the patient and staff. Insurance coding and approval for procedures
was also done by myself. Patient procedures completed at the hospital
had orders that were written by myself with all appropriate information.

plan and preparing them for procedures if necessary. Sterilizing office

Pediatric RN
Responsibilities included assessing patients upon admission and when
I assumed responsibility at shift change. Verifying the patient was
receiving all of the care expected and felt as comfortable as possible
while on our unit. Administering medication, assisting doctors at bedside
and preparing patients for transport were among a few of the responsibilities
that were done to care for the patients. Calming parents when young children
had to have procedures, including IVs was part of the care giving that was
necessary. Educating parents on how to care for the child with medical
equipment, as well as on discharge, to ensure that the patient would heal
appropriately. Prepared patients for pre-op with IV, medications and education
to assist them in a smooth transition for their procedure. Communicating with
certified nursing assistants, nurse managers, nursing supervisors, respiratory
therapists, pharmacist and laboratory personnel to ensure that the patients all
had the appropriate care and that everyone that was involved had the correct
information for the correct patient.

VOLUNTEER/COMMUNITY SERVICE

Work with the Samaritan Resource Center to help individuals that are
homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless, to find resources available
to them to help them to get jobs and homes and to be self sustaining
individuals in the community once again.

2005 2012

Aids Helps Inc. Worked with the resources to help raise funds for the
community. This allowed them to be able to provide free testing for HIV
educate the community on the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases
and how to prevent them. Providing rides to their clients as well as working
reception to help the individuals to see their case workers.
