Background Information on Informant: A Filipina; 3 rd year Speech Communication student in University of
the Philippines, Diliman Campus.
Purpose of interview: To learn about the interviewees perspective of her program in order to inspire other
students to appreciate their respective degree program and to help the students know if their chosen
degree program is really the one for them.
Questions:

Fencing Stage
1. We heard that your first choice of program is not speech communication. What other
programs did you consider?
2. From those programs, what do you like most?
3. What did you see in the speech communication program that made you choose that
rather than the other program that you like?

Interaction Stage
4. What has motivated you to pursue this program?
5. Most students generalize your program as having to stand up and speak in front of the
audience. Tell us more about your program.
6. Which aspect of your program do you like best? Why?
7. What extracurricular activities related to your program are you taking?
8. How do these activities help you improve in your program?
9. What particular skills or talents are most essential to be effective in this field?
10. Do you find being confident and good at public speaking a requirement for effective
communication or only an advantage? Why?
