I.

Members introduced themselves.

II.

The purpose of the committee (advise the school board

regarding curriculum and related matters) and responsibilities
of CCAC members were reviewed. A tentative timeline of
monthly agenda items was distributed and reviewed by
members. Members were invited to review the CCAC by-laws
on their own and seek clarification as needed.

III.

The CCAC roster of 2014-2015 members was distributed.

Members were asked to review contact information and
provide updated information to Ann-Marie. Ann-Marie asked if
members were still okay with the practice of placing their
names and contact info on the district website under CCAC.
All members were in agreement that this was acceptable.

IV.

Ann-Marie reviewed the group norms with members. Meetings

will start at 7:00 p.m. and end by 9:00 p.m. Discussion is
centered around curriculum not personalities. Meetings are a
time to learn about STMA curriculum and state and federal
mandates. Meetings are a time to exchange ideas and to hear
input from the community. If a concern is of a personal
nature or about something that may not pertain to the entire
group, a phone call prior to or after the meeting to the
director of curriculum (Ann-Marie Foucault, 763-497-6524) or
building principal would be appropriate.

V.

STMAs vision, mission, and five strategic directions were

reviewed. STMAs vision is:
Independent School District 885 will, by 2016, consistently
achieve academic rankings in the top 15% of all Minnesota
public school districts. By increasing academic
achievement for all students while maintaining sound fiscal
practices, the School District will continue to be the pride
and center of the community.

VI.

Staff development chairs for each STMA building shared their

school improvement plans. Each school improvement plan
included goals and action plans for STMAs strategic
directions. CCAC members were invited to offer feedback that
will be shared with building staff development committees
and administrators. The following STMA staff development
chairs provided an update on what was new in each building.
Lisa Maas-High School
Nancy Eull-Middle School West
Jodi Vanderheiden-Middle School East
Clay Norman-Smith-Big Woods Elementary
Andrew Neumann-Fieldstone Elementary
Kathy Ellsworth-St. Michael Elementary

VII.

Ann-Marie reviewed the curriculum cycle calendar and

reviewed the content areas in the first year of the cycle
(PE/health and English-language arts), the second year of the
cycle (art, music, and world language), and the third year of
the cycle (math). The general processes involved with each
year were reviewed. CCAC reps were invited to sign up to be
a rep for year one content areas and attend meetings
throughout the year. A schedule of the curriculum meetings
was disseminated and CCAC members were invited to drop-in
to any of the curriculum meetings when their schedules
permitted.

VIII. The meeting concluded by CCAC members posting a Wish, an

Interest, or a Positive from the meeting as an evaluative
technique.
IX.

The next meeting is on October 27th at 7:00 p.m. in the AP

staff development room (#207).

Meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
