Ms. Heidi Keefer Principal Royal Palm Middle School 8520 N. 19th Avenue Phoenix, Arizona 85021 Dear Ms. Heidi Keefer, Education has always been one of the most important aspects of my life. This not only includes furthering my education, but also educating others. Specifically, I have enjoyed learning about the subject of Social Studies. That is why I am interested in becoming a Social Studies teacher at Royal Palm Middle School. I believe I am qualified for this position because as a 2018 cum laude graduate of Arizona State University, I have acquired the skills necessary to excel in this position. In addition, I was a student teacher one day a week my junior year, and a student teacher five days a week my senior year. During my time as a student teacher I worked very closely with my mentor teachers. This experience allowed me to form appropriate relationships with both students and fellow faculty and staff. As a part of my student teaching I was required to write several lesson plans and lead a variety of social studies classes for 7th and 8th grade classes. In my lesson plans I stressed the importance of critical thinking and confidence, as well as self-reliance and the idea that goals are possible as long as students put in the hard work. Working hard has gotten me very far in life and I believe that this opportunity will only motivate me to work harder for the benefit of not only myself, but also the students, faculty and school community. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Gabriella Martinez
