Final Educational Philosophy

Note:
I have literally no way to make a video happen. I
fully recognize that this was supposed to be a
video, and I had creative ideas for a video. Try as
I might-- it has been to no prevail.

Part 1
Why do I want to teach?

I want to help young adults (and adults) go where they want to go

in their future.
I want to be there for more than lesson plans.
I want to help other countries with their English proficiency levels.
I want to help High School students to find their voice in their life.
I want to assist in making the world a 1) smarter and 2) better
place.

Too many adults, parents, and educators/ mentors raise kids up with a lot of
strain. There are a lot of expectations, and, the older we get, the more we
feel pushed into decisions. Society wants us to make decisions quickly and
stick with them, and we forget that for inexperienced, young adults this is
difficult. I want to be one educator that cares all around, and does not put a
strain on this situation.
I want to teach English to broaden creativity, to help assist in professional
environments, and to help people be able to communicate more effectively in
global environments ESPECIALLY since technology is ever growing.

Part 2
Whom am I going to teach?

Adults. Teens. Preteens.

To begin, I would like to work here in Texas (in a bigger city) at a ninth
or tenth grade level. I want to do this for five years. During the
summers I plan to teach abroad in places such as London and Ireland
and Korea. Afterwards, my long term commitment is to teach upper
high school level students and adults in Japan.

My degree plan states that I will be teaching secondary level

education. This for me is 8th through 12th grade. My major is English,
but my primary educating focus will be ESL.

My goal is to work in a bigger school so that I

may have classrooms with multiple language
speakers, instead of (like Commerce, TX) you
have Spanish and English.
My goal Is to work with special education as
well.
I definitely wish to work with students with
speaking disabilities. Its a lot of work, but the
feeling when they finally get it is way more
pay off in the end.
When I make it over seas, I will be working
with students who have virtually no
experience with English. This is my ultimate
[satisfactory] goal. I will also be working with
adults looking to get promoted in businesses.

Part 3
How Am I going to Teach?

I know that teaching and helping

people is where I am meant to be. I
cant wait to put everything I learn
into action.
I believe in order to help others you
must also come to accept that you
must always leave your mind open,
and continue learning to best fit each
generations needs.
I am prepared to find new and
improved ways to teach/ instruct
with each new technology in every
generation.

I am going to teach by incorporating images, videos, educational games, and

conversations. In Texas, teaching English is viewed as fairly over-rated. Here
we focus primarily on novels and books before our time. I will use video clips
to help as a visual aid, and I will use a site to help students know what to
study for my tests. In Japan and other countries there is room for novels, but
they are less important.
(using the term less important VERY lightly!)
Since this is the students second language focus, it will be more crucial for
them to learn the entire language. Online educational games can help build
vocabulary, as well as build mental processing speed while teaching how to
form sentences or conjugate words.
I will incorporate social
interests by using the
latest hot type apps or
websites, such as Skype for
now, and I will utilize
online games to assist with
thought recollection speed
and natural learning to
help the student retain
information longer (and
easier).

Part 4
Where am I going to teach?
As soon as I graduate, I will
teach in Texas for 5 years.
During the summers I will teach
abroad. My top places to go are
as follows: Ireland, England,
Korea, China, Japan, and
Australia.
Then I will relocate to Japan and
teach there for 5 to 10 years,
before relocating to China for
another 5 to 10 years.
This is the point when I would
like to come back to America,
settle down, and teach at a
Private School until I am ready
to retire.

As closure I would like to say that:
All images are thanks to Microsoft
PowerPoint Clipart.
Aside from this being a PowerPoint, all tested
ideas did in fact reach the 3-5 minute range
for this project. If this were a video, it would
be about 6-7 minutes. This is dependent on
how fast I speak through each [failed] run
through.
If you would like to be instructor I highly
suggest taking a Technology in Education
course because technology is always
growing, and the things you learn are so
useful.
