LAST TIME OUT

The weekend started off slowly for Carter 2 Motorsports, as rain derailed track activities for Saturday
afternoon. Because of the significant amount of precipitation throughout the week, a large amount of
standing water had accumulated between turns 3 and 4.
Despite the rain, the short-handed crew battled through the elements to prepare Eric Caudells No. 97
Honoring Americas Warriors Collectors & Filters Inc. Dodge and Alex Clubbs No. 40 Aget Dustkop:
Capture It. Filter It. Breathe It. Dodge.
By the time the track was dry, both Carter 2 Motorsports teams were confident that their cars were ready
to hit the Worlds Fastest Half Mile.
In the session, Caudell made multiple runs, as he picked up time in each run. He ended the session as the
21st fastest car. Unfortunately, due to the short-handed crew, Alex Clubb was only able to turn a limited
amount of laps, as he came in 26th on the speed charts.
As race day came, both teams felt confident that their cars were ready for 200-laps around the Winchester Speedway.
Because of the previous days rain, Caudell was slated to start 13th, while Clubb was slotted to start 19th.
Unfortunately, right before the initial green flag, Alex Clubb brought his car to the attention of the crew.
After a long inspection of the car, the team found that the engine had developed a serious issue, as they
were forced out of the event, finishing 26th on the afternoon.
Caudell started the race with no issues, as he quickly became accustomed to race conditions.
Carrying the lone banner for Carter 2 Motorsports, he had fallen back to the 18th position, following the
green flag. Despite falling back, a few early cautions helped him regain position, as he slowly began to
navigate up the leaderboard.
By lap 100, he found himself inside the Top-15 and was continuing to gain ground until he lost grip on
entering turn 1 and spun out. Fortunately, he was able to stop the car and quickly get it off the racing surface with no damage. He quickly brought his car to pit road, where his crew quickly replaced his Hoosier
tires and filled his car with Sonoco Racing Fuel.
He returned to the track without losing many positions and was optimistic that he could make his way
back through the pack.
Shortly after the green flag, another accident occurred, as he navigated his way through without damage.
Shortly after that, he had discovered there had been a radio malfunction, as the crew had to change out
the radio on the car.
After the change, he returned to the track, only to find that his car was badly over-heating. He quickly
brought it to the crew, where they attempted to cool down the car. Unfortunately, their efforts came too
late, as the engine had expired due to the over-heating, forcing Caudell to drop out of the event. He was
credited with a 18th place finish.
COLLECTORS & FILTERS INC. BACK WITH CARTER 2 MOTORSPORTS IN 2015
Team officials have announced that Collectors & Filters Inc. has come back on-board with Carter 2 Motorsports in an expanded role in 2015.
Collectors and Filters Inc. will appear on the Carter 2 Motorsports Dodges at all of the races in Indiana
during the 2015 ARCA Racing Series campaign, including both races at Salem, Winchester, and at the
Lucas Oil Raceway Park.
Collectors & Filters Inc., an Indiana Representative for Aget Manufacturing Company, offers a wide variety
of industrial pollution control collectors. They can offer collectors that can take hard particles, such as
wood and metal shavings, and remove them from where they are present. Also, they offer collectors that
can take soft particles, such as harmful air particles, out of the air, improving air quality in the work place.

RACERS CONNECTION TO PARTNER WITH CARTER 2 MOTORSPORTS IN 15
Carter 2 Motorsports has come to agreement with Racers Connection, of Adrian, Michigan, to be the

about #teamc2m
From a young age, Team Owner
Roger Carter had a love for racing go-carts and motorcycles. His
interest in racing developed when
he and a close friend began to build
their first race car together.
When Roger was older, he moved to
Charlotte, North Carolina, meeting
former NASCAR Winston Cup Series
car owner, Dick Bahre. He was
known, at the time, for working on
the race cars that appeared in the
movie, Days of Thunder. Bahre
took Carter under his wing, teaching him the ins and outs of being
a race car owner and driver.
The two partnered together for
many years, competing in multiple
levels throughout ARCA and NASCAR. This is what has fueled the
fire for not only Roger, but for Carter
2 Motorsports ever since.
Carter 2 Motorsports has been in
auto racing for over 20 Years, as
Roger has been a part-time driver
and a full-time team owner in NASCAR and the ARCA Racing Series.
The team currently operates three
full-time race teams with ARCA.

The track opened in September
2006 with the Soy Biodiesel
250, won by Woody Howard,
for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup
Four Champions playoff. The
Indy Racing League announced
a race there on June 24, 2007,
the Iowa Corn Indy 250, which
was won by Dario Franchitti, who
barely nipped Marco Andretti at
the finish line.
The track has secured a combined NASCAR Camping World
East-West race where results
will count towards both series
championships. That race delivered a dramatic battle between
17-year-old Joey Logano from
the Busch East Series, who defeated Daytona 500 champion
Kevin Harvick, 1998 West Series
champion, who represented the
West Series at the end of the
race. The track was awarded a
NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series race and a Nationwide
Series race in 2009.

In 1987, he met Dick Bahre, who taught him everything about

the racing business. The two raced as partners for over 15
years, racing in the NASCAR three major national touring
series, spanning from 1991 through 2006. Although Carter enjoyed racing in NASCAR, his passion had always been with the
ARCA Racing Series and wanted to bring the race team back to
his roots. Therefore, in 2006, Carter 2 Motorsports was formed.

news around the series

FINALLY! AUSTIN WAYNE SELF RECORDS CAREER WIN #1 AT WINCHESTER

Austin Wayne Self passed Brandon Jones with six laps remaining in the Herrs Chase the Taste 200
presented by Federated Car Care Sunday at Winchester Speedway and then all he had to do, he said,
was stay focused on victory lane.
I was just looking ahead and listening to the countdown of laps, 4-3-2-1, Self said. I kept driving it in
deeper and making sure I got on the gas as hard as I could. I was trying not to think about it too much
and just driving the race car as hard as I could.
Self, in the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions-Pirate Energy Ford, made slight contact with Jones in turn
four, reminiscent of last years race when Jones passed Mason Mitchell for the win on lap 199. Mitchell
is the team owner of the No. 98.
It was pretty dramatic, Mitchell said. It was basically last year, only reversal of roles. He was well
aware of that and Im pretty sure the other team was too. I thought it was clean just like last year. You
do what you have to do nowadays to win races.
Jones led almost half of the race 98 laps before finishing third in the No. 25 Ansell-Menards Toyota. About the contact, he said it was just hard racing.
I felt like we had the dominant car here all day, Jones said. Its unfortunate, but its all good.
Grant Enfinger finished second, getting past Jones on the last lap in his No. 23 GMS Racing Chevrolet.
Kyle Weatherman, who started first in the No. 22 Cunningham Motorsports Ford, finished fourth and
Justin Boston, in the No. 55 Hydraulics Cylinders Inc. Toyota, fifth.
Enfinger widened his driver point lead, finishing five spots ahead of runner-up in the standings, Josh
Williams.
We knew it was going to be crazy, especially if those two guys in front got into each other, Enfinger
said. We wanted to be there to capitalize if the two leaders wrecked, but I slipped as well. It wasnt
enough to get by them. Plus, I was trying to look at the big picture. We brought home the car in one
piece again another second place for us. It was really a solid run.
Tom Hessert was sixth in the final finishing order, just ahead of Williams, James Swanson, Sarah
Cornett-Ching and A.J. Fike. It was a career best for Swanson, in the No. 48 Kan Do-Radon.com Dodge,
while Williams scored his series-best ninth top-10 of the season.
ARCA RETURNS TO IOWA; DOUBLE-HEADER WITH INDYCAR
After a one-year hiatus when the track changed ownership, the ARCA Racing Series presented by
Menards is making its way back to Iowa Speedway for another mid-summer, short track classic on the
.875-mile Newton, Iowa oval. The ninth #ThisIsMySpeedway150 is scheduled for Friday night, July 17.
The 150-lap ARCA race will serve as the preamble to the next-night IndyCar Series Iowa Corn 300,
bringing together a high-profile stock car tour with the top open wheel circuit in America.
Wentzville, Missouris Kyle Weatherman, who finished second at Iowa in 2013, likes the weekend lineup.
Thats really coolto be running with IndyCar, Weatherman said. Ive actually never been to an IndyCar race, so Im looking forward to seeing it. From a fan perspective, this just seems like the perfect
weekendgetting to see the ARCA cars run and Indy. To me, theres something for everyone in that. It
would be interesting to talk to a couple of the guys from IndyCar and get their thoughts on the track.
As a driver, there probably isnt a lot of carry-over from one series to the other, but itd still be cool to
get their perspective.
Weatherman turned heads at New Jersey Motorsports Park in late May, earning his career-first ARCA
win in his first road course attempt.
Veteran Tom Hessert, Weathermans Cunningham Motorsports teammate, won the ARCA race at Iowa
Speedway in 2010.
That place gives you the superspeedway feel in a short track packageone of the coolest tracks in
the country, Hessert said. Having IndyCar there is really going to enhance the weekend for the fans,
and Im looking forward to seeing them. The IndyCars are so awesome, and to see them on a short
track is going to be really exciting. I really think the ARCA race combined with IndyCar at Iowa is one of
the best packages anywhere. Im looking forward to all of it.
HOME, SWEET HOME: MITCHELL SAYS MUST WIN AT HOME
Mason Mitchell, 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion, will make his final scheduled ARCA start of the 2015 season this Friday at the Iowa Speedway in the #ThisIsMySpeedway150.
Mitchell will drive the No. 78 Karl Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM). Karl Chevrolet is
the areas leading Chevrolet dealership located in Ankeny, Iowa.
As a driver you want to win every race, but when its your home race you want to win it a little bit
more, Mitchell said. I always put a little bit more pressure on myself when we race at Iowa Speedway
because we always have a lot of friends, family and sponsors attending and we want to win for them.
