The Adenovirus is are medium-sized (90100 nm), enveloped (without an outer lipid bilayer)
viruses with an icosahedral nucleocapsid containing a double stranded DNA genome. Their name
derives from their initial isolation from human adenovirus in1953. They are responsible for a wide
spread of diseases that are almost unnoticeable to very severe. There is also no vaccine that can cure the
adenovirus but there are ways to can prevent contracting the disease and protecting yourself.

Adenoviruses represent the largest nonenveloped viruses. They are able to be transported
through the endosome The adenovirus genome is linear, non-segmented double-stranded DNA. This
allows the virus to theoretically carry 22 to 40 genes. it is still a very simple virus and is heavily reliant
on the host cell for survival and replication. Entry of adenoviruses into the host cell involves two sets
of interactions between the virus and the host cell. Once the virus has successfully gained entry into the
host cell, the endosome acidifies, which alters virus topology by causing capsid components to disband.
It starts asexual replication and spreads through the body.

The symptoms of the adenovirus are Common cold, Sore throat (pharyngitis) Bronchitis,
Pneumonia, Diarrhea, Pink eye (conjunctivitis), Bladder inflammation or infection
(cystitis),Inflammation of stomach and intestines (gastroenteritis), Neurologic disease. The adenovirus
rarely cause serious illness or death. People with weakend immune systems or respiratory or cardiac
disease they are more likely to contract a deadly version of the diease. The disease is mostly contracted
by physical touch or through water since it can be present in frest, tap, minearl and even bottled water.
It is also commonly contracted through the anus since it lives in fecal matter. This being said if you
touch someone that has the virus and hasnt washed their hands since wiping or taking care of other

humanely needs and you touch your mouth or eye then you are mostly likely contracting the disease =.
Since there are no vaccine for the adenovirus but there is for other strains, only ways to prevent
contracting the disease such as washing hands at public restrooms constantly using antibacterial hand
wash or wipes. This is the only known way of preventing the contraction of the disease.
