Student Success Advisor, High School

Supported caseload of 70-80 at-risk high school students. Provided basic case-management in tandem with
educational goal development. Created, organized, prepared lesson plans, and facilitated weekly support group
for LGBTQ students. Prepared and instructed weekly life skills class that included time management and career
readiness. Partnered with community center high school class to provide team building activities and basic case
management.
Program Contributions:
First employee in my position, thus was instrumental in creating department guidelines and best
practices procedures
Achieved 65% or higher quarterly passing rate for school years 12-13 and 13-14
Collaborated with site director at LGBTQ community center to bring in guest speakers, take fieldtrips,
and support students, which lead to a 75% passing rate for 13-14 school year

High School Placement Counselor (HSPC) and Special Education Paraprofessional (SEP)
Held both positions for six months apiece. As HSPC, developed individualized graduation plans for incoming
high school students. Researched various educational programs from previous schools to accurately perform
credit audit. As SEP, assisted Special Education teacher with monitoring student academic progress. Conducted
progress calls with families to determine areas of need. Drafted IEP paperwork to expedite to parents.
