Distance Learning
All the distance learning school/institutes that I have analysed have some
similarities; flexible hours for students, reasonable cost comparing face-to-face
schools, more options and more help availability.
Since 1984, Oklahoma State University's K-12 Distance Learning Academy has
provided instruction and support for thousands of students, teachers, and
administrators of grades 3-12 worldwide. Also we are a partner and course provider
for the United Star Distance Learning Consortium. (USDLC). Oklahoma State
University's K-12 Distance Learning Academy provides high school and and
concurrent online courses. Program features include; Flexible and convenient class
schedules, works for block scheduling and/or yearlong classes, full support service,
tutors and instructors available on toll free line, interactive technology
At Alpha Omega Academy, learning happens wherever your student is, whether
across the room, across the country, or around the world. AOA is an accredited
online academy for grades K-12, with thousands of students enrolled worldwide.
They offer over one hundred Christian courses, find qualified teachers, and receive

SERC's distance learning programs, all supported by teacher-developed curriculum,
bring Smithsonian science into classrooms and homes across the country. By
participating in video conferences, you have the opportunity to talk with expert
scientists and educators at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center
(SERC) and possibly venture into research areas restricted to on-site
visitors. SERC has wireless video conferencing equipment which allows for a unique
learning experience. We offer video conferences from a number of remote venues
such as beaches, docks, research vessels, and forests.

counselors, admissions coordinators and peers. From attention to unique learning

The Distance Education program at Southern Oregon ESD is a multi-point,
interactive video network that connects 23 schools within the ESD service area. The
ESD network also connects with high schools, ESDs and other institutions
throughout the state of Oregon. Southern Oregon ESD serves as the "hub" for our
three county regional network, providing scheduling and first level trouble shooting
for the videoconference sites. Additionally Southern Oregon ESD provides training
for teachers interested in using the network. Numerous events are scheduled on a
daily basis among various sites.
