No big hobbies boating and water skiing in the 70s. I was involved in union business for
several years which consumed a lot of my time. Karen had a job for several years that
involved traveling and I was able to go with her on some of those trips. Brett and Gina live
in Seattle, Washington and we try to go there at least once a year. Shelley, Ted and the
grandkids recently moved to Franklin, Tennessee and we try to visit them as often as
possible.
Started working at DP&L in December of 1962 and continued there until the division I
worked in was sold to Vectren Energy Delivery (an Indiana gas/electric company) in 2000.
I have continued working there in an engineering role and plan to retire this summer,
possibly June 1. We moved to our present home in May of 2006 after living 28 years in
our previous home.

I have been in education for thirty-two years as a first grade teacher. My last twentyfive years have been in the East Clinton School District at the New Vienna Elementary
School. It has been a very rewarding profession and I have met many wonderful students
and teachers. I am retired as of ten days ago (May 1, 2010).
Since high school I have lived in Ashland, Kentucky; Columbus, Ohio and Arlington, Texas.
The last twenty-five years I have enjoyed country living with my family on Reed Road close
to Sabina. My mother, who will soon be ninety-nine years old, and my brother and his wife
live three miles away. My sister and her husband visit often since they are retired. I am
fortunate to have my daughter, Stephanie and her family living in Wilmington. I get to
enjoy seeing Alec, 15 and Allison, 12 participate in their school activities. My son Mark,
and his family are resident of Beaufort, S.C. for the past two years. I hope to take more
frequent trips to visit the grandchildren, Andrew, Jeffrey & Melia, since I am retired. My
son Kyle, and his family live in New Albany, Ohio and we get together quite often. Tyler,
who is seven, and Gracie, who is six, keep me young with their activities. I am blessed to
have such a wonderful and caring family.
My dream is to travel some and spend more time enjoying my children and grandchildren.
Hopefully, the brain and body will stay intact so I can accomplish this. All classmates are
welcome to stop and see me whenever you are in the area.

Golf and still work per diem

The rest of my life: The first 15 years of my life after graduation, I worked as a nurse in
various hospitals in Utah, Pennsylvania, Virginia and New York. I should say I worked parttime in between having 3 children as mentioned above. Once the children were of a certain
age, I went to work for Eastman Kodak as an Occupational Health Nurse and loved every
minute of my time there. My husband and I retired in 1997 and moved to Myrtle Beach,
the golf capital of the world. I am so looking forward to this reunion and seeing everyone.
This will be my first trip back to a reunion. As long as I dont look in a mirror, I can still
envision what I looked like 50 years ago. At that age did any of us ever think about
getting to this time in our lives?

Hobbies/Activities:
Run every day and have since I was 40 years old in 1980.
Travel all over America. Travel through out the world. My wife and I have seen a lot of
country before she passed away. That was a blessing and when our children were young the
were with us. I like people and being with people. I like being part of Bible Study groups in
our church when I am home. I like computer and face-book. I like seeing my family back
home in Ohio and my wonderful brother and his family. I like seeing my wife family and
seeing how they are doing. The one good thing Jan and I came from the same part of the
world and our families are there.
The rest of your life and any other interesting tidbits you want to include:
I miss my wife very much. I walked into my wife life when I was 15 or 16 years old. We
were raised about 4 miles apart and went to different schools. I am very country and she
is from a small city of Sabina, Ohio. The thing that I admire most about my wife, other
than her movie-star looks and her Mother Teresa saintliness is that she always walk with
God in her life and she was a place I would go to for help with life problems. She could kill
me with a smile and she could wound me with her eyes. She could lead me to love and she

never gives in. She just changes her mind. She would bring out the best in me and the
worst. She would do as she pleased and she was nobodies fool. She was always a wonderful
woman to me. The whole family was in the home when she died with all the children,
grandchildren, and great grandchildren and we were there and gave her to God's angels
who took her home. We were married for almost 45 years. She was valedictorian in High
School and College and it was her hands that rocked the cradle of our children. She was
and is the one who is the greatest in our family and she has always been there for us all
and her husband who was off to war when he was young and old or the war on the streets
of Owosso, She was a good woman to be married to the soldier type person that I am. I
can remember when I joined the Owosso Police Department in May, 1966 a person wrote
into the Arugs Press saying that the Owosso Police Department has hired a baby killer. He
was
referring to the fact that I was a Vietnam Veteran and that I was out of control. It made
Jan cry and then she got mad. What a woman she was. As time has gone on people do not
remember those days. I know the man that wrote that about me in the paper. He is a good
man today and still lives and works in Owosso and goes to the same church that I go to.
I have had only five jobs in my life. When I left the farm I went to work for a
Construction Boss in the State of Michigan while I was in college at Great Lake Bible
College in Lansing, Michigan. We built
houses all over the South West of Michigan and lot of them on the West coast of Lake
Michigan. U.S. Army is the second job, Owosso Police Department being my third job. Road
patrol for 22 years and Police Chief for 15 years. When I retire I did work for the Indian
Trails Bus Company here in Owosso which was founded in 1908 and is gong very strong
today. It is a very busy place and with that I have been allover America, Mexico, and
Canada and it has all been paid for. They are very good people and it is still owned by the
same family. My last job has been with the U.S. Defense Department and the U.S. Military
in training Iraqi police on how to do police work. This is a very high paying job with a very
high risk. I have enjoyed doing this job and I am still doing that kind of work. The last
year and half I have worked for the same company (DynCorp International) for their
Personal Security Division (PSD) like Black Water but it is for DynCorp International.
I think what I enjoyed more than anything was when I was a police officer with Owosso. I
started when I just turned 26 years old and was fresh from the military and assigned a
walking beat in the Downtown area. At that time they had six walking beats Downtown, two
walking beats in West Town and two in Dutch Town. We also had eight car patrols with
seven of them with two officers. Car #8 was the command Officer. We worked all of the
City of Owosso, and two Townships with a total population of almost 60,000 people. I also
was trained on a motor cycle and did patrol with it. In eight months I was assigned a car
with a senior officer and after one year I was assigned with a new partner to break in as a
rode officer. My partner and I were assigned together for twenty two years before we
were promoted. We have so many stories to tell and my partner can do it the best. He is so
funny. He was only 21 when Sunday, April 25, 2010 America Online: RowsD we were

assigned together, not married, 6'2", 155 pounds, blond and had spent four years in the
Air Force. We would argue about everything for what was better the Army or Air Force
and is there a God or not. We both got hurt together, we have cried, and for a long time
we held the record of the number of fights officers have taken in eight hours. Our record
was thirty eight. I understand that record has now been broken. Owosso is a fighting city.
Kind of red neck. We always work the night shift from 1900 hours to 0700 hours or from
2300 hours to 0700 hours. We always worked the bad district A which was the West Town
area where all the bars are (29 Bars along West M-21) and is the area that Jan and I
always have lived and raised our children. There were many times we never seem to have
enough patrol on the street. I am glad that as the years went on it did get quieter on the
streets and today it is not bad at
all in the city. In the last part of the 60's and the beginning of the 70's there were a lot
of riots. We have not had a riot in over 20 years now.
March 21, 1988 I was promoted to Police Chief and left the streets. I like the streets the
best and being with the people. I like being a Police Chief and it was an honor. My
wonderful wife would help a lot with that job and she would go with me on a lot of things
when I was a road officer she could not go.
The other thing that I have been honored with is being an Elder in the First Church of
Christ in Owosso, Michigan for more than 37 years. When I retire from police work and
went to Iraq I tried to resign but when I came back I found out they did not except that
and I am still an Elder. What an honor. The Church has been there for me and my family all
these years

Geraldine (GG) Georges Walker

Spouse:
Bob
Worked at Clinton Co. AFB (started day after graduation). Married classmate Bob Walker
December 1962. I transferred to DCSC in Columbus, OH. After Bobs graduation in 1964,
we moved back to Lees Creek had 4 pregnancies in 4 consecutive years (one miscarriage)
I must have been trying to set a record of some sort. Kelly Susan was born in 1964,
married Charles Ely; Kent Robert was born in 1966, married Shari Shell and Kirk Georges
was born in 1967, married Tammy Rice. From these unions we have 6 beautiful
grandchildren Kendra, Amanda, Rebecca, Brice, Trace and Alana. They currently range
from Senior in college to 3rd grader. They all live close by so we are so fortunate to be
able to enjoy their activities. All 3 of our children and now our first 3 granddaughters

were inducted into the National Honor Society. WE ARE BLESSED. (Sorry had to brag a
little)!!!
We spend about 4-5 weeks in Naples, FL in the winter. Maybe a little longer when I retire.
I spend a lot of time at Rocky Fork Lake in Hillsboro since 1999 when we purchased the
cabin on the lake.
I am still working do love my job but the boss says whenever I am ready, we are closing
the office. I do income taxes on my own, with the help of my daughter, Kelly, from the
end of January to April 15th, so that is a stressful time for me.
As we age, sometimes we realize how fortunate we are. My dad died when my mother was
3 months pregnant with me 6 other little ones how lucky for me that she was able to
carry me to full term and was able to raise all 7 of us on a small farm. I am sure we were
poor, but we just didnt know it. We always had the necessities of life and love. We were
content.
Should you be at the lake anytime, 6506 Spring Hill Dr., stop by. We can solve the world
problems just sitting on the deck, with the lake in view. Water is therapeutic!

Rosemary (Georges) Wilson

After High School

In November of 1960 I married Jude McCane. We were married until August 1973
and had 4 great kids Jennifer, Angela, Kimberly and Tim.
Work
In April 1973, I was hired at Cincinnati Milacron as one of the first 10 women to
work mens jobs at mens wages. During my 19 years of employment there, I
worked various jobs including the burr-bench, stock room, and shipping office
where I read orders and chose the appropriate blue prints and manuals to send to
the customers who purchased machines. The parts room was a very interesting job
and I loved it! My final job was clerking for 64 engineers who were a very
interesting group of people. I worked there until the plant closed in March of
1992 which was a very sad time, since the employees were like family. It took
quite a few years to get over the loss. My mother passed November 2009 and
many of the former employees and management team members from Cincinnati
Milacron came to the funeral home since several of my family members had worked

there. It was like a reunion, although some of them had to help me with their
names - I easily recognized their faces, but names were harder to recall. After
Milacron closed, I worked for a job placement company and did many jobs, but
finally landed at the large Prime Outlet Stores where I thoroughly enjoyed working
at the Jockey store, due to the wonderful coworkers and management team.
Presently, I work full time for Meijer, Inc.
New Beginnings
The Cincinnati Milacron was not just a job, it was the place I met Rod Wilson who
turned out to be my husband of 25 years. We married in March of 1976 and
became the Brady Bunch. Rod had custody of his three teenage children and I
had custody of my four children. When the kids and I moved in with Rod and his
children, it was the first time I had running water and a bath, and a washer and
dryer you didnt have to put a quarter in. We had some very trying times, but it
was great for the most part. One of many adventures occurred in 1977 when after
getting to work one morning, we heard a blizzard was on its way. We headed for
home, but ended up in a snow drift and were stranded in Sabina for 2 days. The
kids were home alone and had a great time!
Kids, kids, kids
As the 7 kids grew throughout the years, we were very busy and always on the go!
My daughter, Angela won Green Countrie Towne Festival queen in Greenfield, OH in 1979.
Rod and I were her chaperones and accompanied her to about 30 festivals all over Ohio.
The host festival, such as the Pumpkin Show or Fall Festival of Leaves, would serve a nice
meal for all the visiting festival queens and their chaperones, and then the queens would
ride on the on hood of their cars or on floats in a big parade, decked out in attired that
was reflective of festival they represented. (Some of the festivals were overwhelming
such as the Circleville Pumpkin Show where thousands of people lined the streets under
rows of beautiful yellow trees) The parade ended at a stage where each queen made a
short speech to promote her festival. The following year, my daughter Kim was first
runner-up in the same contest and represented the festival when the queen was unable to
make it, so once again we hit the road traveling to festivals. Although it was a very good
learning experience for both girls, it was also a great experience for the adults!
My daughter, Jennifer had the lead and supporting role in several high school musicals, and
she went on to perform in Community Theater after graduation.
Two of my daughters were inducted into National Honor Society, one was chosen for Miami
Trace Homecoming court and queen, and another was involved in various sports.
Three of the four children went on to college one earned a bachelors degree in
accounting, one earned a bachelors degree in elementary education and one, an associates

degree in sonography. At present, one is working on a masters degree in social work at

Michigan State.

Family time! ...

We always had a great vacation every summer! We visited the Smokey Mountains,
Niagara Falls, Opryland, Cedar Point, Washington D.C. After the kids were grown
and had families of their own, we rented a large, oceanfront house on various
beaches Virginia, Outer Banks of North Carolina, and Emerald Isle in South
Carolina. Each family took turns cooking meals around a theme and cleaning up
afterwards. The theme was reflected in the food, table decorations and
sometimes even the attire. Everyone tried to outdo each other it was a blast!
The grandchildren loved the ocean, but were afraid of the scary things in it, so we
had to start renting houses with a pool. When we werent cooking or swimming,
some of the more ambitious souls would get up to watch the sunrise and walk the
beach first thing in the morning to get the newest selection of shells. We would
tour around and see the local lighthouses. What wonderful memories!
After the kids got married, one moved to Florida and then to Pennsylvania, and is now in
California. Another one moved to Michigan. Rod and I made lots of trips to visit them and
got to travel to various parts of the country.
The good times

Birth of my children and grandchildren

Wonderful Thanksgiving meals
Closeness of family maintaining and creating traditions
Christmas time excitement and decorations!
And
The sad
a stillborn grandson
the loss of my father in 1979 at 70 yrs. old
the loss of my husband, Rod in 2001 at 69 yrs. old
the loss of my mother in 2009 at 100 yrs. old
Not me!
Things that I never thought Id ever do, but did include:
Crossing the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel Bridge 2 times (I hate deep water!)and
Flying more times than I can remember (Im petrified of flying!) and even by
myself to California to see my daughter. I have missed a plane, sat on the tarmac
in Chicago ready to take off only to have the flight cancelled at the last minute,
then had to go back in and negotiate for a replacement flight.

Things Ill never forget

On my 26th birthday I watch the first man walk on the moon

I was watching TV the morning of 9/11 when the plane crashed into the second tower
what a horrible day!
All the different wars that have happened, and are happening now
All the terrible natural disasters and the effect on our world
Being a Grandmother
I have 10 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter - 5 live in Ohio, 4 in Michigan, and 2 in
California. After Rod passed, I moved to Big Rapids, MI to be near daughters and
grandkids. My house is about 2 blocks from the grandkids within easy walking distance.
I have 3 grandkids in college, 3 in high school and 4 in grade school. The grandkids have
excelled in both academics and in sports. After living with arthritis pain for 4 years, I had
a new knee put in, which was the best thing Id ever done. While I was on medical leave, I
got to go to the state track meet and watch my (then) sophomore grandson long jump 22
11.4 to win the state championship. He qualified to compete in 4 events and medaled in all
4. It was quite a thrill!
What keeps me busy
I have a very wild dachshund named Emma who keeps life interesting!
I have a coworker (also widowed) who has become a very good friend and enjoys attending
my grandsons sporting events with me.
Basketmaking, crocheting blankets and various things for my family, and making variousthemed, old-looking Father Christmass

Last summer just when I was ready to go back to work from my knee surgery, I got very
sick and had a couple of serious emergency surgeries. I spent the month of July in the
hospital in Grand Rapids. I was lucky to recover fully, and since then, I am very happy to
be alive and I appreciate every day I have to enjoy my family and life!
When I walked out of graduation in 1960, I had no idea what life had in store, but I
believe I have grown to be a better person for all I have been through!

I joined the army in June of 1964 and was in active duty until June of 1966. I was
stationed in Germany most of that time and got to see a little bit of Europe. When I
returned to the United States I met the former Patricia Phillips and we married in May of
1967. We are still happily married. We lived 40 years in New Antioch where we raised our
two children John, and Shelley. I bought and drove a semi and drove over the road for two
years but decided that it was taking to much time from the family so I started working
for Sewell Motor Express where I retired from in August of 2008.
We have four granddaughters, Rachel (16), Bailey (12) Nelinka (2) and Elishka 3months old.

The rest of your life:

Where have 50 years gone! Surely this is not us were too

young! But to catch up I started working for the Government at Clinton County Air Force
Base (so young I needed a work permit!). When they closed and moved to Rickenbacker in
Columbus I decided to go to Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton as it was a closer drive for
me. What a good choice. Within 3 years I was selected to enter an upward mobility
training program in Government Contracting, entering a great career negotiating and
awarding research and development contracts leading to the new innovations in military
aircraft. I met my wonderful husband Joe Lane and married in 1983. An added blessing
were Joes 4 lovely daughters. We now have six grandchildren and love being a part of
their lives. We were in a position to take an early retirement after 34 years. That was
in 1995. Since retirement we have been privileged to lead 4 mission teams to Honduras
(this past year adding El Salvador). In a fifth-wheel trailer, we live to RV around Ohio in
the summer, volunteering a month at Deer Creek State Park, and then visiting Florida in
the winter. We love our church and have volunteered many hours. As many already know,
we are busier after retirement than when we worked. An thats a good thing!.

Here is a brief summary of my life. One of the things I always wanted to do was to teach
school, I did that for a year in Piqua High school, Then I went into being a tool and die
maker, from this it led into management, I went form a Tool Maker to the President of a
large fabrication and tool supplier, supplying the automotive industry with bender and
sizing tools. the name of the company was McKee Machine tool corporation, later we sold
out to Addison from England. While working with Mckee I was in sales traveling all over the
world, I have played golf at Saint Andrews in Scotland, and in Australia I played golf and
had to avoid Kangaroos on the golf course. I had the opportunity to go on a trade mission
with George Vonivitch the Governor of Ohio, to the Pacific Rim. I'm now the operation
Manager of a new company called R&B machining located in Wilmington Ohio.
My biggest accomplishment was getting married to Sue, and having a sun named Ethan. The
lord has really blessed me in my life, I'm a cancer survivor for three years now. I really do
enjoy life in general.

The rest of your life and any other interesting tidbits you want to include
How do you sum up 50 years of your life in a few paragraphs? To date, I have had a
wonderful life and wouldn't change a thing.
After high school graduation, I worked for an attorney in Dayton, Ohio for 6 mos.
Then to Wright-Patterson AFB for 1-1/2 yrs before going on the road playing piano in
night
clubs. Over a 10-yr period I performed in 18 states, including Las Vegas, Reno and
Anchorage,
finally returning to Buffalo, Wyoming (the birthplace of my husband) in 1975.
I was married to C.V. Roberts for 31 years and we have 3 daughters, Tanya and Shannon
in Buffalo, Wyoming, who each have 4 children; and Sarah, a registered nurse in Billings,
Montana, with 3 children. I now have 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
I moved to Florida in late 1989 and got divorced in 1993. I have worked for a GREAT
attorney here for 20 yrs, as well as playing piano and singing with various bands throughout
Central Florida. I have also been the music director at Bear Lake United Methodist Church
here
for 15 yrs. I may never retire as my boss has difficulty with the simple tasks (like
balancing his
personal checkbook, and the trivial preparation of pleadings and documents for a mediation
or
tria1),although he is a fantastic trial attorney having obtained numerous verdicts in excess
of a
million dollars. (Also, health coverage is provided by the firm; therefore, I do not have to

depend on Medicare any time in the near future.)

I am a cancer survivor, having had a hysterectomy in 1980 and a unilateral mastectomy in
1997. With the exception of the normal aging maladies (high blood pressure, cholesterol,
triglycerides) that are maintained by medication, I am in very good health.
Egads! This sounds like a resume for someone applying to be adopted or married (none
of which I am remotely interested in)!
As you can see, I stay busy with the hope it will keep me young (ha! ha!)

The rest of your life:

After graduation, I went to business school. After completing

school, I worked for the Ohio Division of Wildlife for 8 years. I met my husband while I
was working for the state. I have three sons, two granddaughters and two grandsons. I
have not remarried after the death of my husband. I try to remain active and have met
several people in my mobile home park so I can stay that way. They give me the support
that I need and help when I need it.
A big hello to everyone. I wish you the very best.

50th Year Reunion
Hello everyone, wish we could be there. We were just in Indiana for 2 weeks in July and are
scheduled to go back on August 7 for business and medical reasons. It's just too difficult
and too far away to come back again so soon. I think we all know we are not 17 anymore.

I enjoyed Reesville and Simon Kenton very much. Can't honestly say that going to school
was my favorite thing to do, but, the group of people I was around made it all worthwhile.
We sincerely hope you all enjoy your gathering. We travel that direction several times each
year and would love to have lunch with anyone who is interested if our schedules permit.
Enjoy life and best wishes to everyone.....

Working Career
After high school, I joined the United States Army in September 1960. I remained in the
service for 20 years retiring in October 1980. I served 14 years in Europe and 14 months
in Vietnam. I also served in Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Ord California; Atlanta, Georgia and
Indianapolis, Indiana. I earned the rank of Staff Sergeant Major, however, retired as a
First Sergeant. When I was promoted to Sergeant Major, I was also assigned to Korea and
required to serve two years in order to retire with the rank of Sergeant Major. I chose to
retire and not go to Korea. My military career was rewarding and while in Vietnam I was
awarded two Bronze Star Medals and two Meritorious Service Medals. I have a 60% combat
disability.
Following retirement from the service, I was recruited by the Indiana Commission on Aging
and my highest position was Director of Training and Education of the State and its 92
counties.
In 1982, I was recruited by the Hospital Building & Equipment Corporation, St. Louis, MO as
Director Human Resources for the Hotel Division located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In 1985, I was recruited by a company named Cutting USA a paper converter who
manufactured paper applications for business machines. My position was Vice President
Human Resources & Administration. Corporate office located inToronto Canada.
In 1995, I was recruited by the Handleman Company the largest music distribution company
in North America, distributing CDs and DVDs to the Wal-Marts and K-Marts throughout the
United States. It had operating facilities in Reno NV, Richmond, VA, Toronto Canada and
the United Kingdom. My position was Director Human Resources and Administration. I
medically retired from the Handleman Company in December 2005 at which time I was
recognized as 100% disabled by the State of Indiana.
Family
As I am sure everyone already knows, my Father Albert T. Riddle passed away in July 1980.
My brother Larry C. Riddle passed away in December 1980. My mother still resides with
her husband in Indianapolis, Indiana and is doing very well at the age of 88.
My daughter Sonja S. Riddle attended San Antonio University on a full scholarship 19801984. She was accepted to attend medical school in Houston, Texas in late 1985. She was
killed in an automobile accident in September 1985 shortly before her planned wedding. She
was a wonderful daughter, full of life and love for everyone and she is greatly missed every
day. She was 22 years old.

My son Thomas T. Riddle is 31 years of age and currently resides in Wisconsin. Tom attended
Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana as well as Florida State University. He is presently
the General Manager of a small company in Hartland, Wisconsin. He has blessed me with a
grandson, Aidan Thomas Riddle, who will be three years old in September. He has had a
band for several years and frequently plays Fridays and Saturdays in many Wisconsin
locations.
Meet my wife Kathie
I met Kathie Lynn in 1986 in Indianapolis, Indiana. We dated for two years and have now
been married 22 wonderful years. We have no children together, this was well planned in
advance of the wedding. I could easily write many pages about Kathie and how she has
affected my life, however, to make a long story short, she's the best thing that could have
ever happened to me. Although younger than me she has taught me the true meaning of
what a married man and woman should mean to one another and what a meaningful and
wonderful life we can have together. We have been fortunate to have traveled throughout
the United States and several locations outside the United States, and we are not done yet.
Kathie and I resided in our home in Indianapolis for over 23 years. In December 2008 we
purchased land in Sebring, Florida and started construction in January, 2009. Our new home
was completed in June, 2009. We were fortunate to sell our home in Indiana in July, 2009
and relocated full time to Florida in August, 2009.

Believe me this was a significant

adjustment for the both of us, however, after one year we are truly excited about this new
chapter of our lives.
Health
It's funny sometimes how you can feel so great for so many years and then one day the
bottom just drops out of the bucket. Ten years ago, I had a stroke and 5 minutes before
going into surgery the bleeding in my brain stopped. If a nurse had not been watching the
monito,r they wouldn't have known the bleeding stopped and surgery would have been
performed. (If you don't believe in guardian angels you might want to rethink the process).
I was released 5 days later and that very night my colon ruptured in 5 different locations.
I went into emergency surgery within hours. For the next 3 years, I underwent 7 major
surgeries, 15 intestinal resections and had 80% of my colon removed.
The hospital at Indianapolis performed 3 surgeries and had given up. They put me on a
colostomy and said that's how life is going to be. My wife and I immediately contacted the
Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio. They reviewed my history and offered to give it a shot to
put me back together.

Four surgeries later, the colostomy was gone and my life was

reasonably back in order.

Within recent years ,I have had other medical concerns arise mostly as a direct result of
my tour in Vietnam and agent orange. Some of the complications related to agent orange
are diabetes, nerve damage in the feet, legs, hands and arms. I also have three tumors in
the brain and one in my upper right lung.
Within the past 6 months, my wife was diagnosed with cancer; certainly something we
wouldn't expect, again healthy and never any medical concerns her entire life. Fortunately,

it was detected early, a good surgeon was found, surgery performed successfully and she
will have treatment for the rest of her life.
As you can see the road hasn't always been smooth. Most of us have a share of obstacles
and burdens that we can choose to overcome or not. Our choice has always been, fix it and
let's continue to live our life. We enjoy getting up every day and continue to be excited
about what lies ahead.
We must all face reality, getting old is not for sissies.......

The rest of my life: I have had a varied life of education and jobs. I retired from
motherhood and accounting in 1999, which I dont think I was quite
ready for but it happened anyway. We have done quite a lot of
traveling around the world to some very interesting and fun places
and others not as much. We have been very fortunate in being able
to travel and experience other cultures. The world is a very large
place and yet we often encounter people from our own neighborhood
or that we know in some other way. We had our first Grandchild last
fall and that is a pretty special event. I am not your typical
Grandmother but I do think hes pretty great. Its fun watching your
children take on those adult roles. Neither of our girls live close to
us so I have an excuse to travel to them. I like traveling alone and,
with girls, that may be a little easier to do. What man likes to shop?
And all those shoes! I am currently trying to figure out what I want
to do when I grow up and maybe Ill figure that out soon and maybe I
wont. Its fun trying. Ive really enjoyed putting this update
together and reconnecting with so many of you in the process. A walk
down memory lane is a nice trip. Those were very good years.

After graduation in 1960, I worked on our family farm until fall, when I entered The Ohio
State University, majoring in Agricultural Economics. Married classmate GG Georges in
December, 1962. Graduated from The Ohio State University in 1964. Info on our children
and grandchildren is the same as in my lovely, intelligent, charming wifes journal. (Now
he will be sorry he didnt take the time to do his own journal)!!
Upon college graduation, we came back to the farm on which I continue to enjoy farming
today. We have had so many changes in agriculture. We are very fortunate that one of
our sons is involved in the farm operation full-time and the other son is involved part-time.
If you can get up in the morning, dress and move about, you are blessed. Everything else is
a luxury God has been so very good to us.

Orville had never liked his name and at about

happy for Orville that he spent the last years
