Cumbia is one of the most melodic representative expressions of

Colombia. It brings together three cultures - African, Indigenous and


European.
The origin of cumbia music comes from the days of slavery in the
late 17th century and is derived from the African word cumbe which
means dance. Another word was derived later in the Antioquia region of
Colombia called caracumbe and was coined by African slaves who
worked in the mines.
cumbia was born of a cultural mix of black and indigenous
backgrounds. The music got very popular in the 1950s and 1960s in
Colombia as it evolved into what we recognize today.
Chacha- is the name of a dance of Cuban origin.
- It is danced to the music of the same name introduced by
Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrn in the early 1950s

Cha-cha-ch may be danced to authentic Cuban music, or to Latin


Pop or Latin Rock. The music for the international ballroom cha-cha-ch
is energetic and with a steady beat. The Cuban cha-cha-ch is more
sensual and may involve complex polyrhythms.

Tango-Tango is a partner dance that originated in the 1890s along


the Ro de la Plata, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay,
and soon spread to the rest of the world.
Tango is a dance that has influences from European and African culture.
Dances from the candombe ceremonies of former slave peoples helped
shape the modern day Tango.
Candombe -is an Uruguayan music and dance style originating with
African slaves
