Tre Writer believes that the present study of prophecy is greatly hindered by the unthinking acceptance of a theory regarding the kingdoms repre- sented in the visions recorded in the Book of Daniel. In the hope that the Scripture teachings on this important matter may be studiously and prayerfully reviewed, the following chapters have been written. ‘They originally appeared in the columns of the New Zealand “Bible Standard,” and gave rise to much enquiry from interested students of prophecy. Writers such as Maitland, Todd, Ben Ezra, and others, have argued against the view, that Rome is the Fourth Empire, but the writer believes that the argument has never been presented so fully as it appears in the following pages.
