As a recently graduated student from The University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in
Family and Consumer Sciences, I feel that my academic and previous work experience make me
a great fit for the Rehab Aide position at Island Therapy Solutions. I learned of your need for a
Rehab Aide through correspondence with you and your staff over e-mail. I am interested in
pursuing a career as an occupational therapist and have experience working with children, which
is why I am so excited to be applying for this position.
My experience as an intern with Yoga Sprouts over the past summer has prepared me well for
this position. As an intern, I had to chance to work with and teach yoga to children ages two
through fifteen. Yoga Sprouts teaches yoga and other workshops to improve individuals mind,
body, and soul to foster corporation and compassion among children, while working toward
physical fitness in a non-competitive environment. I received training before and during my
work on how to effectively teach the excellent therapeutic benefits of yoga to children to convey
important lessons positive thinking, body and mind awareness, and engage childrens natural,
boundless energy. I assisted in creating lessons and workshops, handled the public relations of
the company, and advocated for my local community. The best part of my job as an intern was
interacting and playing with the children, witnessing the benefits of our workshops, and learning
new things along the way. This experience helped me to understand how to with children while
maintaining an open mind and remaining empathetic and compassionate toward our clients.
I am keenly interested in Island Therapy Solutions because of its integrative and holistic methods
of therapy for children. I feel as though my personal values and goals align with those of this
company and it would further my experience in working with children in therapy. I want to be a
part of a team that fosters youth growth and development to help them function at home, school,
and play. I feel like I could help Island Therapy Solutions make a difference in the lives of
children and their families that I would work with. I look forward to speaking with you further
