Quality Policy

Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India is


committed to provide road infrastructure in general and National Highways in
particular of international standards including road transport to the citizens of India
by providing support and guidance to all concerned with utmost safety,
serviceability and due importance to environment leading to public satisfaction.

This shall be achieved through appropriate policy formulation and timely


completion of programmes and execution of services mandated by Government of
India within prescribed rules and regulations in cost effective and transparent
manner with participation of all concerned.

Quality Objectives
1. To plan, develop and maintain National Highway (NH) infrastructure to
assured efficient & safe transportation for sustainable development
2. To formulate the policy relating to National Highways
3. To provide technical and financial support for the development of State
roads other than rural roads
4. To develop specifications, standards, research and development pertaining to
roads and bridges
5. To formulate the policy and implementation of Road Safety programmes
6. To formulate the policy and implementation regarding road transport.
7. To develop skill amongst the stakeholders compatible with the international
standards for efficient, cost effective and timely completion of projects
8. To foster International cooperation in road sector/road transport
9. To provide technical support to other Ministrys/States/UTs regarding
development of roads/highways
10.To enhance public satisfaction by promoting quick response to public
grievances through citizens/client charter
