Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the fourth grade! I hope everyone had a fun relaxing summer, and you are ready for
an exciting school year! I know I am excited! This year, fourth grade will be team teaching. This
means we will switch classes throughout the day. I am teaming with Mrs. Bray and Mrs. Spooner
this year. I will teach math and writing. Mrs. Bray will teach reading and Mrs. Spooner will be
teaching science and social studies. We will also switch classes for ELT (Extended Learning
Time) based on the needs of the students. We are both looking forward to working with you and
your child. Below you will find some other information you will need to know. Lets make this an
amazing year!
NEW SCHOOL HOURS
Our official school day begins at 7:45 and ends at 2:20. The school will be open for student drop
off at 7:00 and breakfast will begin at 7:15. Announcements will begin at 7:35 and we will
promptly start our first class 7:45. Please make every effort to have your child here on time, so
they will not miss instruction. In addition, please limit check outs as much as possible as our
academic day does not end until 2:20.
AGENDA
Students are expected to write their homework assignments and important dates in their agendas
each day. They must then show their agendas along with their homework to you each night. We
ask parents to check homework and sign your childs agenda daily.
HOMEWORK
Students are required to read each night to meet their reading goals. Additional homework will be
written in agendas daily. Students will also need to study notes to prepare for assessments as
needed.
COMMUNICATION
Communication will be handled through the use of the agendas, class website, school website,
email (scronic@jackson.k12.ga.us), phone calls (706-654-5580),and the use of Remind texts.
Students are responsible for bringing their agenda to the teacher if there is a note from a parent
to be seen.
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
You must send in a written note with your child in the morning if there is a transportation change.
If an emergency arises, you can call the front office before 1:30. Do not email changes because I
may not check my email before the end of the day.
WATER BOTTLES
Water bottles are encouraged. You may have your water bottle at your desk as long as it is not a
distraction to you or others. No other beverages are allowed.
SNACKS
Healthy snacks can be eaten at afternoon recess.
