[body]: As tempting as it is to traverse the Upper Peninsula by car, one of the best
ways to see it is on foot. So park your vehicle and hike one of dozens of trails to take
in some of the most beautiful scenery.
One of the U.P.s newest trails is the Iron Belle.

trail for hiking (1,259 miles) and one for biking (774 miles), that, when finished, will
span Michigan from Ironwood in the western Upper Peninsula to Belle Isle in Detroit.
Currently about 60 percent of the Iron Belle is completed thanks to collaboration from
local, state and federal partners who are working to connect existing trails. In the U.P.,
the hiking trail incorporates the North Country National Scenic Trail and the bike trail

Another hiking opportunity for nature enthusiests from beginners to seasoned hikers,
runners and mountain bikers is the Marquette Trails Festival,

Noquemenon Trail Network and include a guided hike of the North Country Trail
section that runs through Marquette. Or try the Cedar River Pathway
Trail[http://www.michigan.org/property/cedar-river-pathway/] that offers scenic loops
from 2.3 to 9.2 miles that include pine and hemlock stands dating back to the late

[body]: Adults are usually happy hiking from Point A to Point B in the U.P., but the
when are we going to get there younger set may need more stimulationmotivation
along the way. OneA novel way to keep kids focused on the trail is to create Trail Bingo
cards. Make a 5x5 square grid. Write or draw a different trail object in each square.
When your child sees or hears one of the objects along the trail, mark it off with an X.
