Feedback is descriptive and not

1st I&RS meeting. Very interesting,
the whole team attended. Team
meets Tuesdays and then they meet
again with parent on Wednesdays.
Discusses strengths and needs of
child. Observations and home life are
covered as well.
Met with Ken Boardman and 4 other
student teachers and was prepped for an
interview and was provided feedback and
possible questions
The need for consistency in evaluating
educators. Teacher practice score + SGO
+ SGP = Summative Rating. Covered
Danielson Framework. Student growth
vs. student performance.
Learned how to navigate using a Smart
board and how it is engaging for the
students. Can now apply this in the
classroom without being scared or
nervous. A lot of ways this can be used,
different tools. Students can be involved
more.
Walked around and spoke with West
Windsor, Ewing, Princeton, South
Brunswick, and Montgomery. Great
experience with interviews and am now
more comfortable with what types of
questions to expect.
Discussed retention, parent conferences,
PARCC feedback, offered google
workshop, update on book study.
First meetings I have attended. Therapist
talked about the goals of the student and
how the school is supplying the help for
the student. Parent seemed very concern
and wanted to make it clear that
whatever the school could not supply, the
parent would, showing determination to
help their child. A lot of emotion in this
meeting.

IEP Meeting

Listened in on how engagement is a very

important part of student learning.
Discussed how to role play with the
students.
Whole K team got together during lunch
and plans and suggestions were made for
the previous week. All teachers worked
together and gave feedback. Very
collaborative and effective.
Sat in on an IEP meeting referring the
child to be placed in a special education
classroom for specific subjects. Parents
were on board with this and all
participants signed off agreeing this
would be the best choice for the student.
One of the workshops I attended on
campus was to prepare us future
teachers with our applications. This
workshop really helped me with making
my resume stick out and how to start
applying for jobs. They took us through
each step of our resume and broke it
down for us giving us examples of what
we should say or use. They also helped
me find where I can see what schools
have openings and where I can apply
online. They also prepared us for
interviews and expressed how it is
important to come in with a couple
questions yourself to show that you care
about their district. One thing they
talked about was the cover letter. This
was beneficial for me because I have had
no experience with a cover letter before
so this guided me in the right direction.
We disused the importance of physical
representations and charts in the
classroom. This Book Club meeting stuck
with me because it showed how
important using charts are in the class
room and I was able to relate because of
the Kindergarten classroom I am in. My
students need charts to refer to and
specifically images on the charts because
they usually cannot read word for word
on the chart. I t is important to reference
these charts during your teaching so that

the students notice that you are using

them too. We covered the four elements
for making signs useful reminders of our
teaching. They are that the teacher must
reference during teaching, keep it simple,
include pictures, and include words. You
want to makes these charts not just to
hang up in your room to make the room
look nice, however you want to make
sure that the students understand the
charts and understand that they can use
them whenever they need to which is
why they are hanging in the classroom.
Discussed art show, student events
coming up, book fair, assessments due at
the end of the year.
Learned the new program that the CBS
teachers will use to scan their incoming
kindergarteners. Learned how the test is
administered and how to score the tests.
Discussed end of the year closing of
classrooms. Talked about in service
hours that at due by June (6 hrs).
