Latest Trends and
Technology
What is nuclear technology ?

 Nuclear technology is technology that

involves the reactions of atomic nuclei .
 The nucleus of an atom is the very dense
region, consisting of nucleons (protons and
neutrons), at the center of an atom.
 a nuclear reaction is the process in which
two nuclei or nuclear particles collide to
produce products different from the initial
particles.
Q: How it works ?
 2 processes happening there
these are:
 Nuclear Fission 

 Nuclear Fusion 
Various uses of nuclear
technology.
There are 2 categories of its uses :
 Military Purpose
Nuclear weapons

 Non Military Purpose

 Nuclear Power
 Medical Applications
 Industrial applications
 Commercial applications
 Food Processing and Agriculture
Military Purpose Uses:

There are 2 types of nuclear weapons

 The first type produces its explosive energy through
nuclear fission reactions alone: Atom Bombs

 The second basic type of nuclear weapon produces a

large amount of its energy through nuclear fusion
reactions: Hydrogen Bombs
Non Military Uses:

 Nuclear Power
1. Electricity Generation (15.7 % of the world’s electricity)
2. To Propel Aircraft Carriers
3. To Propel Submarines
4. Icebreakers

 Commercial Applications
1. Oil & Gas Exploration
2. Road Construction
 Medical Application
There are 2 types of medical applications
1. Diagnostics
2. Radiation Treatment

 Commercial Application
1. Smock Detector

 Food Processing and Agriculture

1. To Destroy Bacteria's from Food
