Course Description
Welcome to Biology! This is an EOC course, as well as a
graduation requirement. In this class we will explore the exciting
living world around us. We will use a variety of teaching tools,
including technology, labs, projects, and papers, to facilitate our
learning process. Together we will foster a productive classroom by
creating a positive learning environment in which we treat each
other with respect.
Expectations
You will show respect for fellow classmates, the school, and
your teachers.
You will come to class in dress code, on time, and prepared
to learn with all needed materials including textbook and interactive
notebook.
You will follow directions, classroom policies and procedures.
Sleeping or laying heads on the desk is NOT permitted
during class. If you are sick I will write you a pass to the nurse.
Grading Policy
The aim of this course is to prepare you for the EOC Biology

If you are absent, there will be copies of all assignments and

assignments missed, whether the absence is excused or unexcused.
If you are absent for a lab or an assessment, you must contact me
immediately via email or verbally to schedule a make-up.
Seating arrangements will be assigned every nine weeks.
However, the teacher reserves the right to change any students

This class has an end of year exam. This year the Biology

Biology 1 Regular and Biology 1 Honors. All questions are multiple
choices (MC). The EOC will be worth 30% of the Biology 1 Course
grade.
Attendance: If you are absent a note to the office is required
or a 0 will be given for the missed work. For each day absent with
an excused note, you will be given two days to make up missed
work. The note is brought to student services.
I take late work for 50% of the grade.
Tutoring Hours: by appointment after school, NHS after schoolcheck with guidance for the day of the week
The greatest assistance you can find is regular attendance
