An HDS unit in the petroleum refining industry is also

often referred to as ahydrotreater.

Used to enhance the smoke point of fuels.

Undergoes reaction like

desulphurization,denitrogenation,deoxygenation

DESCRIPTION:1) Feed + H2 rich stream Fixed bed reactor

2) Reactor HP seperator

3) HP seperator LP seperator
4) LP stabilizer

VARIABLES:The variables influencing the process are

1)Partial pressure of H2.
2)Process Temperature.
3)Residence Time.
Pressure = 0.8-20.8Mpa
Temperature = 175-450c
Co-Mo, Ni-Mo ,Ni-Co-Mo are used for hydrotreating.

Reactor Temperature = 360-390 c

Pressure

= 40 kgf/cm3

Space velocity

= 2.1 m3/h

Recycle gas rate

= 200 Nm3
