3. Earthing practice is as per EDN drawings and electronic


earth/protective earth are separately maintained as per
EDN Product Standard SN0001 or that issued specific to
the Project.
4. 70BL02/70BL03 cable connections are firm.
5. Cooling fan direction is okay so that the air drawn from
bottom is thrown upwards. Ensure all the fans (3 per
rack) are working allright.
6. Protective doides in the back plane PCB (DN, DI, CK,
ADR & Z) are healthy.
7. Module connections are clean and pins are not shorting
especially, near the 70BLO1 cover. Addresses are set
correctly and links/switches are in the right position as
per O & M Manuals.
8. Ensure that 24 V DC power supply (Incoming) at the
terminals of the individual panels.

9. Ensure proper distribution of power supplies to TF


(Release), TQ (Ack), TL (Lamp Test), SOB Inter panel
connections and synchronisation signal wiring to
FV01s from diagnositc station as per relevant
documents.
10. Ensure proper distribution of supply to individual racks
from XT382 module in all panels
11.Alter termination of cables in the panel ensure blocking
of holes in the bottom plates by glands or mortar.
12. Always ensure that EPROMS are properly labelled
with revision numbers mentioned thereon. Check for
correct polarity of EPROM placements in their
designated locations.
13. Dust accumulation inside the panel to be removed.
B. INPUT MODULES
1. Alarm signal should not appear in healthy state.
2. Ensure diagnostics is working under conditions of wire
break, short circuit, supply failure etc.
3. Appropriate compensating resistors are used in case of
EA04 modules. (Between pins 17 and 19).

4.

External resistors are to be mounted across field contacts


wired to 70EB03 modules wherever required.

5.

Ensure correct switch settings for each module.

6.

The input signal should be free from the following


disturbances (to be checked with a CRO in case of
malfunction).

Contact bounces

Verify the connections of signals and US/Z according to


the sensor requirement.
In case the disturbances are there, suitable methods are
to be used to suppress the noise. (Eg., Checking the
shield of cables for grounding at the source, twisting of
cables).

C. OUTPUT MODULES
1.

Alarm signal should not appear in healthy state.

2.

Diagnostic responses like module failure, missing PCB


response are to be checked.

9.

Ensure correct drive control standard functions are


programmed, line number 0400 onwards and mode
selection etc.,

10. In case of 70AS06 module, ensure feedback transmitter is


properly terminated, grounding of the valve position,
feedback cable should be strictly avoided.
11.

Check hardwired protection if provided, is properly


terminated.

12. Ensure calibration of 70AS06 output with load (4-2mA/


0-10V)
E. PROCESSOR MODULE
1.

Correct version of firmware is used as per relevant


document.

2.

Application EPROMs with correct application programme


numbers are used.

3.

Parameters are set according to the scheme using


70SK06 or using Diagnositc station.

4.

Fault annunciations are all right under all fault conditions.

5.

Diagnostic EPROM reading facility is enabled or not.

6.

Processor numbers are correctly set (In the windows


provided in the front plate of the module) when there is
more than one processor module in a local bus.

7.

Program End statement is programmed after the user


programme in all processor modules.

8. In case of 70PR05 modules configured in hot standby


mode, ensure that the inter processor data transfer address
range is beyond the last service address used in 70BK02
module.
F. COMMUNICATION MODULE
1.

Ensure wiring is OK between


XV7713/70FA01.

70BK02, 70FV01 nad

2.

All the modules inside XV7713/70FA01 are placed


properly.

3.

RC circuit is soldered and placed properly at the


beginning and at the end of the Intra Plant Bus Cable.
(XV/FA Boxes).

4.

IP bus is terminated properly in all the panels with proper


lugs. Ensure that coaxial cables are laid and terminated
as per the relevant guidelines.

5.

To reduce disturbances, ensure that the IPB cable is


earthed at more points. (Multiple earthing).

6.

In case 70BK02b is used with 70FV01A ensure proper


modifications are done as per Manual .

7.

Alarm signal should not appear in any of the 70BK02 and


70FV01 modules.

ACTIVITY
8.

In 70BK02 modules ensure that line numbers 0016 and


0017 are programmed with DF02 and 03FF respectively
to enable EPROM reading facility from Diagnostic Station.

9.

In 70BK02 modules ensure that word marshall


programme, starting from line number 0400, the BK
numbers are called in the ascending order, as otherwise
the module will not function.

10. Ensure earthining link is soldered in all XV modules.


11.

After IPB is commissioned, check the changeover


operation of redundant Intra Plant Bus trafic directors
(70FV01).

G. DIAGNOSTIC STATION/SOE STATION


1.

Ensure that correct version of firmware is loaded in


70SK33 module in proper locations.

2.

In the 70SK33 module in which application program is


loaded no RAMs shall exist in any of the sockets.

3.

Ensure that there are no extra RAMs/EPROMs/PROMs


exist in any module.

4.

The operation of the DC/DC Convertor modules are OK


and the outputs are within permissable limits.

5.

Check the inter connection cables/FKB for SOE operation.

6.

Ensure that no Diagnostic/SOE station modules (Micro


computer modules) are inserted/pulled out in power-on
conditions.

7.

Ensure that the word 02 is marshalled to 01 in diagnostic


station as this synchronization word is used in all the P13
local buses.

8.

Ensure that a 70BK01 module is provided in Diagnostic


station with address 01 and the pin 13 of this module is
hardwired to all 70FV01 modules (Pin 95) to enable all
70FV01 modules to float 01 address and at the same time
to have synchronism in flashing of lamps on the desk Pin
95 of 70BK02 modules is hardwired to all 70KB10
modules (if exist -- Pin 61) to enable them to start the milli
second counter at the same time.

9.

Ensure that the 70BV05 module cycle time is selected as


20mS in both diagnostic station and the SOE station.

10. When both SOE and Diagnositc Station are supplied for a
project, programme SOE as the MASTER and the
Diagnostic station as SLAVE.
11.

Marshall the words 02,03, FE from SOE station into


Diagnostic station.

12. Program the words 02, 03, FE of SOE station in all IPBs.
Use either 70SK06 or Diagnostic station so that the listing
is sorted.
13. Ensure that the SOE command word is transmitted to all
stations wherever 70EB10 modules are located.

14. Check the jumper settings and correct installations of


RAM, PROM, application EPROMs, Firmware EPROMs
as per Manual.
15. Refer to Annexure 2 for typical printer settings and printer
cable connections.

II. FIELD CONNECTIONS


1.

Ensure signal/shields are properly terminated to avoid


interference.

2.

Ferrules to be provided for all used cable cores in junction


boxes and unused cable entries used to be plugged.

I. FLAME SCANNER
1.

Ensure that proper jumper selections are made in the


power supply module, depending on the UPS voltage
available. (110V AC or 230V AC) These settings are to be
made after taking the module out of the rack.

2.

Do not remove or insert any module under Power-on


conditions.
