Glitch in My Anatomy
After reading this essay, I feel more informed about what this author went through with
her battle with cancer. I have learned that a profile describes the persons experiences, and the
author did just that. I understood exactly what the purpose of the essay was. It was about the
trauma surrounding having cancer. The author explained how she felt when she found out she
had the disease, and how it affected her life and her family. She explained what it was like to go
through the treatment. I found it incredible that the author was able to add an element of humor
to the profile. She said, I wonder whose defense system has a better track record, the buildings
or mine. I thought this really lightened the mood. The purpose of this of this profile was easily
understandable by how straightforward and detailed the article was. From how she was feeling
traumatized hearing she had cancer and how dark and scary the hospital was, to learning from
this experience and moving forward past this.

The writer of this piece really benefitted from the interview video. The things told by his
family gave the writer background information such as where he is from, how many classes he
had remaining, and how hard it was to choose sports over school. The interview allowed for the
article to be more engaging and personal. It was interesting that the writer had a frame for a
diploma, and it was empty. It was a reminder of what one of his goals were. Analyzing this piece
also benefitted me because I see that from an interview you can get background information and
then more detailed information that only a family member knows.

- When trying to find the right sources for my topic, I wanted to make sure my sources were
relevant and specific. I chose this one because it is a piece that is touching on how God gives
certain authority in certain areas. This piece brings in other people close to the situation giving
their insight on how God gives use authority that is written in scripture. This article also
examines the natural born leaders today. This is a great source because I will be using examples
of leaders today, not just my pastor.

- This source is great for finding references in the Bible and applying it to my situation. This
article discusses the Bible and how its main focus is using Gods spirit in our lives. I am using
this source because it directly relates to one of my questions. This article also refers to actual
Bible verses on how leaders in the church (my pastor) are supposed to act when in a role of
leadership.
