Pipex px supplied and fabricated 2 sections of Fibre
Reinforced Polymer (FRP) deck for the purpose of stabilising sub sea pipe work 145m below sea level. These mud mats consisted of internal FRP box section beams which were sandwiched between two external FRP plates, 2400mm long x 1829mm wide x 121mm thick, and coated in Yellow Ral 1004 Vinylester Resin. The mats were designed to support sub-sea valve equipment on soft undulating sea bed conditions in the North Sea.
Pipex px FRP structures are lightweight, with a density of approx. 2. This makes FRP structures simpler and safer to handle and deploy offshore, through the wavezone or sub sea The mud mats are easily handled using soft strops Flood holes were provided to maximise stability while being positioned sub sea
