Explanation of General Assignments

Homework
Homework will be based on a class by class basis. If a student does not complete his/her classwork, it will
automatically become homework. Students can expect homework about two to three times a week.
Late Work & Make Up Work
If a daily assignment is turned in one class period late, 70% will be the highest possible score. The second
class late will result in a possible score of 50% and will be 0% after two classes late. If your child is
absent, he/she will have the number of absent days to make up the assignments missed. The absent work
will be located in a hanging tray with their class period on it.
Test Corrections
A review packet will be provided at the beginning of each unit. An individualized Magic Number will
be given to your student. If he/she scores below their Magic Number, they will be notified to attend
tutorials before or after school. The day following each test, we will go over the test and make corrections
in class. If your child fails a test and corrections are properly completed, the highest test score they will
receive is 70%.
Communication
I feel that communication is imperative to your childs success in his/her math class, just like in any other
subject. I will notify parents/guardians via email about tests, progress reports, report cards, behavior, and
anything important that is occurring here at school. As your childs math teacher, I feel that we can work
together as a team and I appreciate your support.
