Observation
Obama is dressed up as a goalie from the republican team
and hes protecting a net which represents the United States.
The ball thats about to enter the net is a bomb from ISIS while
Obama s distracted with Al-Qaida. He seems to represent the
only person able to diffuse the bomb but he seems distracted
with other issues.

2. Techniques Used
a) Symbolism: Obama, who is the goalie is supposed to protect
his team ( the United States ); the ball is a ball from ISIS and
its a threat to the country.
b) Analogy: This simple cartoon halps to understand Obamas
role in this situation and how the country fought against AlQaida and left ISIS aside until it became a bigger problem.
c) Labels: The ball represents a bomb from ISIS, the drawing in
Obamas t-shirt represents his party, and what Obama is
saying means that he fought hard against Al-Qaida but now
that his term is aabout to end he isnt doing enought to fight
against ISIS

3. Message

What this cartoon may represent is that Obama, as the goalie of

the United States has a huge responsibility of taking care of his
country. He captured Al-Qaida and the caption shows that he was
so worried about it that he forgot to fight against ISIS, which has
become a bigger issue. But now that his term is about to end, the
responsibility may not be on him.
