The incumbent serves as Circuit Court II Clerk and is responsible for maintaining court records.
Duties:
Maintains files of all process papers issued by Superior court II and prepares, types and files
summonses, warrants, permanent protective and restraining orders and other court notices for
servicing by Sheriff, bailiff, or mail, posts and cross indexes all documents, and prepares certified
mail as required.
Prepares, types, copies, distributes and maintains files for various court proceedings, including
adoptions, mental health, divorces, appeals and venues.
Assigns case numbers to new court cases related to adoptions, mental health, quest system, and
paternity cases.
Assists attorneys, other agencies and jurisdictions and member of the general public in locating
case files, as needed.
Updates paperwork and filing for courts daily.
Answers phone calls and greets office e visitors determines nature of call, responds to inquiries
and/or routes caller to appropriate person or department.
Distributes mail to courts.
Completes other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; preferred candidates will possess at least six (6) months
experience in a clerical support position. Working knowledge of standard office procedures and
routines ad ability to apply appropriate methods and procedures to assure proper completion of
assigned tasks; working knowledge of the basic principles and methods of bookkeeping,
grammar, spelling, and punctuation and ability to operate standard office equipment, such as
calculator, copier, and computer. Ability to deal with co-workers and members of the general
public in a courteous, effective and tactful manner.
