VETOCEPT

( BUSERELIN ACETATE )
Drug Form: Strile Soluble Injection
Chemistry: Hormone
Composition: Each ml of drug contains 0.0042 mg buserelin acetate
Action: the drug stimulates the production and the release of FSH and LH from the
anterior pituitary. Secretion of endogenous GnRH from the hypothalamus is thought
to be controlled by several factors, including sex hormones. A constant infusion of
GnRH will initially stimulate LH and FSH release, but after a period of time, levels
will return to baseline.
Pharmacokinetics:
After I.M. injection, the drug is rapidly absorbed. It is metabolized to inactive peptides
and amino acids by peptidase enzymes in anterior pituitary. Metabolites is excreted in
the urine and breathing out.
Uses: Vetocept is indicated for the treatment of ovarian cysts with follicular or luteal
origin. Clinical signs of ovarian cysts are irregular estrus, anestrus and nymphomania.
It decreases ovarian disorder, 40 days after parturition.
Dosage Guide: for intramuscular, intravenous and subcutaneous injection to cattle,
sheep, goat, horse, dog and cat:
For ovarian cysts: 5 ml
For prevention delay in ovulation: 2.5 ml
For recovery after parturition: 2.5 ml
Storage:
Vetocept products should be stored at room temperature (15-30 0C).
Veterinary Labeled products:
Vetocept Injection in 10 ml vials, one vial in a package.
