Species diversity

Species diversity means the richness of species in all ecosystems. It is measured on

the basis of number of species in a region. So far 1.75 million species have been
described world wide.
Warmer areas tend to support more species than colder ones and wetter areas
contain more species than drier ones. Topography and climate of the areas support
and control the species of a region.
