In the example pic my Bridged AP is a Rootered 703N that is connected to a main router that
is in the 192.168.2.X subnet.
You simply edit the LAN interface in the Network/Interfaces tab of Luci to your specific
situation. Make sure you use Static IP.
On the wireless, you can follow the same recommendations you posted on that link from
Dovado. Can keep the same SSID as main router or change to different one and different
password for Guest usage for example.

It's in the ROOter wiki. I've done this to several routers to get an extra LAN port and there is
no problem. I currently have an old non-USB router configured as a switch that I did this to
so I'd have an extra port on it.

Go to Network->Interfaces and Edit the WAN.
Select 'Physical Settings' and select 'Custom Interface'. Save and Apply.
The WAN will now have no Physical Interface attached to it.
Now, Edit the LAN. Select 'Physical Settings' and select the 'eth1' Ethernet Adapter.
The LAN will now have 2 Ethernet Adapters associated with it. Save and Apply.
Reboot and the WAN port is now a LAN port.
