    giveyourbestefforttoassignments

    BehaviorManagement:PertheWKMSPBISpyramid,astudentwillbegiventwowarningsfor
    disruptiveorinappropriatebehavior.Ifthebehaviorcontinuesafterthewarnings,thestudentwill
    completeareflectionandthestudentsparentswillbecontacted.Anafterschooldetentionwillfollow
    areflectioniftheinappropriatebehaviorcontinues.Finally,theteachermaygiveanofficereferralif
    thepreviousstepshavenothelpedthestudenttochangehis/herbehavior.

    GradingPolicy
    Gradeswillreflectthestudentslevelofmasteryforthestandard(s)assessed.

    Gradecategoriesareasfollows:Reading30%,Writing30%,LanguageUsage15%,Speaking
    andListening15%,andFormatives10%.

    radeswillreflectthestandardsforreading,writing,languageusageandspeakingand
    listening.
    Allgradesarecalculatedoutof100points.TheFCPSSecondaryEnglishandLanguageArts
    RubricsforReading,Writing,LanguageUsageandSpeakingandListeningwillbeusedto
    gradeallassignmentsexceptWordWizardquizzes.

    Revisions
    Revisionsaredueoneweekafterthewritingassignmenthasbeenreturnedtothestudentwith
    teacherfeedback.
    Whatyouneedforarevision:
    * OriginalCopy
    * RevisedCopy
    * You
    must
    havetheeditshighlightedontherevisedcopy.

    You
    must
    writeareflectionexplainingwhythespecificrevisionsyouhavemadehave
    improvedyourwriting.

    LateWork
    Studentsareexpectedtoturninallassignedwork.Lateworkwillacceptedupuntiloneweekbefore
    midtermandoneweekbeforetheendofterm.Lateworkwillnotreceiveadeductioninpoints.
    However,inordertobeaccepted,alateassignmentmustbeaccompaniedbyacompletedlatework
    reflection.

    Homework
    YourhomeworkassignmentswillincludeWordWizardpracticeandclassassignmentsthatarenot
    finishedattheendofclass.Assignmentsmaybegiventhroughouttheweek.Assignmentswillbe
    recordedonhomeworkhotline,whichisaccessiblefromtheWKMShomepage,aswellastheclass
    website.

    Absences
    Ifyouareabsent,itisyourresponsibilitytoaskfortheworkthatismissed.

    Tutoring
    StudentsmayreceivetutoringbyrequestingtobesignedupforELTtutoringsessionsorby
    requestinghelpduringindependentworktimeinclass.

    ClassMaterials
    Everydayyouwillneedapencilorapen(blueorblackink),aLAsectionofathreeringbinderora
    LAfolderandaspiralnotebook.Besuretostockyournotebookwithlooseleafpaperaswell.Bring
    anindependentreadingbooktoeachclass.Bringyouragendatoclass.

    DailyRoutines
    Youareexpectedtobeinyourseat,withyourrequiredmaterials,bythestartofclass.Duringclass
    followtheteachersdirectionsthefirsttimetheyaregiven.Attheendofclassyouwillbedismissed
    bytheteacher,notbytheclock.

    Bathroom/HallPass
    Usethebathroombeforeclassbegins.Inthecaseofanemergency,youmayrequestapasstobe
    dismissedtothebathroom.

    DigitalLearningEnvironment
    FCPShasreceivedagranttoinfusedigitallearningintothe6thgradeclassroomthatwillcorrelate
    withyourScienceandLanguageArtsclasses.Studentswillbeusingavarietyofdigitaltoolsto
    accomplisharealworldtaskduringtwounitsthroughouttheyear.
