11th Grade British Literature

MAPPING PROJECTS AND PRESENTATIONS

For every major work that we read, two groups will have big mapping assignments. One group will
be in charge of the geographical mapping, and the other in charge of the timeline mapping.

The Timeline Mapping Assignment


The submission will be mapped onto the timeline at the time of the origin or publication of the work.
This submission will include:
-

A picture, comic, or other visual representation of life in that time period


A short summary of what life was like at that time period
Indication of any major events of that time period that are important to understanding the
cultural context

The Geographical Assignment


This submission will be mapped onto the British Isles at the place of publication or the authors
residence. The submission will include:
-

A picture, comic, or other visual representation of the written work


A short biography of the author, including major life events and literary influences
