Notes:
Taking notes will be mandatory. Students will be responsible for keeping a
dedicated math notebook with an organized table of contents. Your notebook
will include all class materials including notes, and will be randomly checked at
least once a quarter, with a formal grade at the end of each quarter.

Homework:
Homework will be assigned nightly and will be heavily weighted in the final
course grade. Homework assignments will be posted online on
afrykholmsclass.weebly.com. Students who miss class will be expected to
complete missed assignments no later than 1 week from the homework date.
Late assignments will not be accepted. Students missing two or more homework
assignments may be required to stay after class. Homework assignments will be
corrected at the beginning of class every day and will be graded based on
completeness. If students fail to show work on each problem, it will be counted
as incorrect and points will be taken off. Students are expected to show all work
for each problem completed in the space provided.

Grading Policy:
I use the point system of grading. Every assignment I give is worth a certain point
value. Your final grade in the class is determined by dividing the sum of your
earned points by the sum of the possible points on all of the assignments. A
breakdown of the typical point values of assignments is listed below:

Tests: 100 points each

Quizzes: 1 point per question (each quiz is typically 10 20 questions)
Warm-ups: 2 points per day
Notes: 20 points per Unit
Homework: 10 points per day
Classwork/Projects: points vary based on assignment
Participation: 50 points per quarter
Notebook check: 20 points
Final Notebook grade: 100 points per quarter
