MSc/Dip/Cert by online distance learning
This part-time online distance learning programme provides Masters level
education for clinicians managing medical emergencies in children. This
programme is delivered online using innovative e-learning methods and relies on
interactive multidisciplinary discussions and input from expert tutors.
The Programme is aimed at graduates in medicine involved in the management
of clinical emergencies in children. It is ideally suited for trainees in Paediatrics
and Emergency Medicine, and highly relevant for Anaesthetists/Intensivists
wishing to pursue a career in Paediatric Anaesthesia or Paediatric Intensive Care,
and Primary Care practitioners working in remote and rural areas. Students will
be expected to complete a relevant course where practical skills are taught and
assessed eg APLS/EPLS, to complement the theoretical elements taught on the
MSc. The full MSc is aligned with those committed to caring for children in acute
care settings, and would provide recognition that a high level of education has
been achieved something which is not otherwise available at the present time.
