LIFE.

DONATE BLOOD, SAVE LIFE, the annual blood donation campaign of UOM Leos was held successfully on this April in the University premises. Over 100s of donators including Leos as well as
non-Leos expressed a keen interest in this massive contribution. The day came to its end not only
adding a remarkable experience but also an immense social service

ARE YOU BUSY WITH YOUR

TIGHT SCHEDULES?
We all have only 24 hours for a day. After we schedule it for traveling, schooling, sleeping and
for other daily works you may not have a time to read, write and study.
Just think how many hours you waste to travel for a day. It may be two, three hours if you face
traffic jam also. What do you do while you travel for your daily work? You may hear a song; you
may have a chat with your friend on face book. You may travel looking here and there. Just think
how many hours you have wasted on these ways for a year. For sure, it will exceed one month for
a year.
Still you are not late. Lets make that time valuable from tomorrow onwards. Always keep a book
in your bag to read. Sometimes you may not have a seat to sit if you are traveling in a public
transport. Dont worry, please memorize something you learnt in your school or class.
Lets start by today onwards. Obviously you will achieve a change in your life within next few
months.

Sun smiled brightly on the sky above Camila School. It was very
colorful everywhere. Beautiful girls in colorful lunges and boys
in sarongs with smiling faces gathered there. Mmmm. Smell of
kaum and kokis watered our mouths.
It was the New Year celebration of a big family. Leos of district 306
A2 gathered at Camila preschool, Maththegoda on 26th of April.
There were so many aurudu games. We all enjoyed the games. In
the evening aurudu kumara and aurudu kumari was selected.
When sun ready to say goodbye, we also said goodbye to each
other and left the place with tired gone but happy hearts and with
strengthened bonds.

It was a blissful and remarkable day for the kids
in Sumudu Pre School. Everyone was dressed in
Sinhala cultural dresses. They were very happy
playing Awurudu Games. Apit Ekka Awurudu
annual New Year celebration organized by UoM
Leos was not only to enjoy the Awurudu games
but also to move the younger generation along
with our culture and its traditions.
New Year Season is always a cheerful season specially for kids. While the adults are busy in various
householdings and rituals, children enjoy the New
Year in their own way. This year, together with
the kids in Sumudu Pre School we added some
colours to their New Year..!

Meditation Program
We cant control things happening around us. They are beyond our control. The only thing we can
change is our mind. Buddhism teaches us a great way to control our mind.
That is MEDITATION. It helps us to develop our inner qualities. According to Lord Buddha,
calming down someones scattered mind is a great merit we can earn. UOM Leos got together with
Meditation institute of Moratuwa and took part in this great merit. A meditation program was
held on 25th of April and there was an alms giving along with this, on 26th April at Meditation
Institute, Moratuwa. UOM Leos joined with the institute and helped them to the meditation program and also for the alms giving.

MEETING
It was 07th of May 2015, Leo club of University of Moratuwa, Leo club of Katuwawala
and Leo club of Piliyandala held the joint
monthly general meeting at ENTC 01, University of Moratuwa. District President- Leo
Chandima Vithanage was the Chief Guest
while Vice District President - Leo Pramodh
Wimalathunge was participated as the guest
of honour. They presented reports of projects which were done in the last month and
discussed about project plans for the next
months of the leostic year 2014/2015.
