Dismissal Procedures:
Your child will ride his or her assigned bus unless we receive a note saying that you (or
another adult) will be picking him or her up.
Please send in a note if your child must get off their bus at a different stop. Both
children should have a note for the bus driver. This should be for childcare purposes.
AM students parent pick up is by the office. You will sign your child out in the office,
and then wait by the office for the Kindergarten classes to come down the hallway.
PM students parent pick up is at the Paoli Pike entrance (the back of the school by the
playground). You will stay in your car and staff members will help direct your child to
your car.
If you must pick your child up early, please send a note.
Absences:
Please call the attendance hotline at (484) 266-1510 to report a student absent.
Please send an excuse note the day your child returns from an absence. If a written
excuse is not returned within 3 days of your childs return, it will become unlawful.
Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during the school day if at all possible.
Please try to avoid scheduling family trips during the school year. If you are planning a
trip, you must send a letter of request to Mr. Brown.
If you know that your child will be missing a few days of school, please let us know ahead
of time. If enough notice is given, we will provide work for your child.
Visitations:
When you are visiting the school, the district policy requires that all visitors report to
the office, sign in, and obtain a visitors badge. Please have your drivers license ready
for the office staff. During the day, the schools doors are locked. To enter, please
press the button on the building to the left of the door. Our office staff will unlock the

Keep in mind that we only allot 5-10 minutes for snack.
Please make sure that your child is able to open his or her snack and drink.
Birthdays:
Birthday treats/snacks are NOT permitted.
In Kindergarten, we have suggested celebrating birthdays by treating the class to a
book. It can be donated to the classroom library, the school library, or could be a
favorite book that is returned home. This is optional.
Passing out party invitations is not permitted. Do not send invitations to school.
Summer birthdays will be celebrated towards the end of the year. Each student will have
his or her own special day to celebrate. Your child could also celebrate his/her half
birthday. Please inform your childs teacher if he/she would like to do so.
Homework:
Homework will begin in late September or early October. The homework may seem
nontraditional. Homework will include tips & suggestions, occasional project ideas,
reading with your child, etc.
If your child has difficulty with an assignment, please let your childs teacher know by
writing a note on the assignment.
Show and Tell will be at the discretion of the teacher.
Report Card & Conferences:
Report Cards will be given all 4 marking periods in Kindergarten (November, February,
April, & June).
Conferences are held twice a year in November and February.
Roadrunner Behaviors:
Classes are given Roadrunner tokens from staff members based on their positive
behaviors on the playground, in the hallways, in the cafeteria, & by showing respect.
If the school reaches the 4 marking period goals, Mr. Brown will reward the school.
Each week a student from each classroom will also be recognized as the Roadrunner of
the Week.
Student of the Week:
Each child will have an opportunity to share more about him/herself when he/she is
Student of the Week. This will begin in October.

between home and school.
You will receive communications via newsletters and Ask Me About papers, including
