Description
CONSEQUENCES
The following represent a minimum response to
violations of our health and safety policy:
1. Visual or verbal warning
2. Student/teacher conference
3. Parent Contact
4. Referral to Assistant Principal
Suspected Cheating = retest (new assignment)
Proven Cheating
1st time = retake for 50%, detention, call home
2nd time = zero, referral, call/conference parent
or guardian
REDO/RETAKES
Students who do not master an assignment, quiz,
or test, have 10 calendar days from the time the
grade is entered into the gradebook to complete
the following
Attend tutorials and/or re-teach assignment
Complete the redo/retake
The max grade for a redo is 70%
ABSENT / TARDY POLICY
Check box for work and assignments missed
Students who have an excused absence have
the number of days they missed to make up
their assignments. (RRISD Policy)
Students who are out for a school related
policy should email their teacher of their
absence at least 3 days before the absence.
Students who are more than 10 minutes late
to class will be counted absent.
You are tardy if you enter class after the bell
rings. Three tardies equals 1 absence.
INTERVENTION PLAN
Students scoring below a 70% on any marking
period will be put on a mandatory intervention
plan and will be required to attend tutorials every
week until their grade is passing.
BATHROOM POLICY
Please do your business before and after class. If
you must go during class, please do not ask to
go during these times:
20 minutes after & before the bell
During classroom instruction
Only go if teacher gives you permission. Be
back in 5 minutes or less.
Classroom Rules
1) Listen to, read, and follow all directions and safety procedures before touching any lab/station
equipment or starting to work on a lab, activity or assignment.
Consequences for not following rule # 1
This is a safety rule and any misbehavior or violation of safety contracts will not be tolerated
during labs or activities. The first violation of this rule during a lab or activity will get you
removed from the fun and you will be given an alternate assignment that aligns to the same
material.
Rewards for rule # 1
The better we act and behave during labs and activities, the more we can do.
2) Phones/iPods/ any other electronic devices including headphones are put into a corresponding
table basket (Unless otherwise noted by the teacher). All devices will kept safely with the
teacher.
Consequences for not following rule # 2
First sighting will result in your phone being turned in to the office
*note- I understand some family emergencies happen and if you need to get ahold of a
parent or guardian during the class period you may ask to use my phone or the classroom
phone. If your parents need to get ahold of you they should call the office.
Potential rewards for following rule #2
Bring your own device days
3) Act like a champion
Brainstorm: What does it mean to Act like a Champion?
My thoughts:

Consequences for not following rule # 3
Verbal warning
Sent to the content mastery room
Contact parent or guardian
Sent to the office
*These consequences may occur in this order, however if the action is distracting to the
rest of the class, any of these may be skipped and result in a harsher consequence.
Potential rewards for the whole class following rule #3:
Pick your seats
Pick groups for stations or projects
I agree to follow the rules on the Lab Safety Contract and will be held
accountable if I do not.
