SUPPLIES: All students need a 3-prong binder with dividers, 2 pocket folders, notebook
paper, and a 3-subject notebook. a pencil pouch with highlighters, pencils, and pens.

GRADE EVALUATION:
1.) Minor Assignments- 35% (quizzes, binder check, reading log, small writings)
2.) Major Assignments 40% (tests, essays, projects)
3.) Practice 20% (classwork, homework)
4.) Critical Needs Assessment -5%
HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to maintain binders, record

assignments in their agenda daily, and read library book 30 minutes every night for homework.
Students are required to maintain a home reading log to be signed by the parent daily and turned
in monthly. All assignments must be turned in on time or result in a penalty. There will be 2-3
tests/ quizzes every week. Classwork and homework are assigned according to our lessons and
class pacing. Homework is written on the board daily and recorded on the parent portal weekly.
LIBRARY/ Reading: We visit the library every week. Students are expected to check out books
appropriate for their grade level. Online books may also be available. These will be read at home
and in class when time permits. Students will need to keep track of all pages read on the assigned
reading logs. A reading project will be assigned each 9 weeks based on a book that was read then.

CLASS RULES: Be on time and prepared for class with all materials, follow directions the

first time given, listen attentively to instruction, respect self and others by staying quiet
and keeping your hands, feet, and supplies to your self, and complete all assignments on
time. Proper dress code rules also apply (no sagging pants or low cut shirts, short skirts, or
shorts) in addition to the other school rules in the Rights and Responsibilities Handbook.
Students are expected to be seated in class and ready for instruction on time or a tardy will

result. Three tardies will result in discipline action per administration.

PARENT/TEACHER CONTACT: I communicate first through the agenda and email. If it is a


repetitive or crucial concern, I will call you. Please monitor your childs agenda daily for teacher
notes and to verify homework. You may contact me at any time with any questions or concerns.
