Test Details and Limitations: Triple screen test

is a blood test done to identiry high risk pregnancies for common genetic disorders like Down syndrome, Edward
syndrome and open neural tube defec{s. The test calculates statistical risk by combining levels of AFP, beta hCG and uE3 fetal protein levels measured with age,
weight, gestation, and other factors. The test only identiliff risk and further diagnostic tests are required to rule out / confrm genetic defect in fetus. Sensitivity is best
at 1S,20 weeks of gestation ranging usually 85-957o This is a screening test and not diagnostic.
