Internet Governance Diplomats in Nairobi

NAIROBI, Kenya (Diplo) - This 30-storey building is the Kenyatta International

Conference Centre in Nairobi, where the forthcoming ICANN meeting n. 37 will be
held from 7 to 12 March 2010.
ICANN meetings are very important for the global Internet, bringing together
participants from all over the world to promote competition, develop policy and keep
the Internet secure, stable and interoperable. Because of that, DiploFoundation, in
cooperation with ICANN, will provide a workshop on Internet governance and ICT
policies.
Internet governance is a multidisciplinary field. This means that the two-day
workshop "Internet Governance Diplomats" will address technical, legal, economic,
socio-cultural and developmental aspects, explaining links to the international and
regional Internet governance process, from the World Summit on the Information
Society to the Internet Governance Forum.
This is the first event in a series of activities in the Capacity Development in ICT
Policy and Internet Governance for Africa - Caribbean - Pacific (ACP) Programme
of DiploFoundation, with support of the European Commission and Secretariat of the
ACP Group of States. All participants from the ACP Group of States who are
attending the ICANN meeting are invited to register.
To register, please send an email with your full name, country of residence, institution
and position to acpinfo@diplomacy.edu - registrations are limited to 30 participants
on a first-come basis. Deadline: 5 March 2010.
