(b) Explain 5 types of punishments that can be imposed on teachers if they break the rules
as stated in the conduct and discipline 1993 (Amended 2002).

Example of arguments:
A public servant has violated the ethics of public service if found guilty of any act or misconduct
contrary to the rules of conduct set. If a public servant convicted of a mistake, that civil servants
can be charged with action and it depending on the type of offense committed.

Penalty or forfeiture of emoluments - All fines or forfeitures monthly emoluments of

officer.
Delay the movement of the salary - the officer is not entitled to receive any salary

movement in the period of sentence is being enforced.


Decrease the salaries - through the following provisions, salary in flat, declining wages
not exceeding three increments and the last sentence shall not be less than 12 months

and not more than thirty-six months.


Drop the ranks - by demoting the rank to a lower grade in the samke scheme service.
