2014-15 WCPS & School Goals
1. The projected student performance pass rate on the new ELA Georgia Mile-stones Assessment for LES students is 57%. 2. The projected student performance pass rate on the new Math Georgia Milestones Assessment for LES students is 53%. 3. Ninety-eight percent of students will increase their math fluency. 4. Ninety-eight percent of students will raise their AR level .5 Partnerships among schools and parents are necessary to guarantee student success. At Loganville Elementary School (LES) we recognize that parents are their students primary teacher and their support is essential in our effort to provide a quality education. To maximize the success of our students, LES will: Ensure that information related to school and parent programs, meetings, and other activities is available upon request in Spanish or another language. Offer parents the opportunity to plan, review, and revise the Title I Parent Plan, the school-wide Plan, and the School Improvement Plan. Host an Annual Title I Parent Meeting to inform parents of the schools participation in the Title I program, the requirements of being a Title I school, and Parents Rights to be informed about the qualification of their childs teachers; a description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school (Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and Georgia Performance Standards); the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress (College and Career Readiness Performance
Offer meetings, workshops, and programs in response to
parent input and end-of-the year Needs Assessment Surveys at flexible times with transportation as needed and provide information from the annual meeting, workshops, and programs on the school website, when possible, to help parents work with their children to improve their childrens achievement. Jointly develop with school staff, eligible parents, and students a school-parent compact that outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student achievement. Listen and respond to parents requests for additional support for parental involvement activities. Provide a Parent Resource Center and a computer parents may use to track student progress and access materials to help their children improve achievement. Orient the staff on the value of the contributions of parents; how to reach out to, and communicate with parents; implement and coordinate parent programs; and build ties between home and school. Provide parents individual student assessment results and explain how to interpret the results. Provide a school calendar yearly and quarterly to encourage participation in the Title I Parent In-volvement Committee, trainings, and workshops Communicate using the following methods and tools to provide families with timely information regarding events and workshops offered through the Title I program: school marquee, school website, school calendar, School Messenger calling system, teacher and principal-generated emails; PTSO newsletters, and the PAGES agenda. Updates on testing, curriculum, athletic events, lunch program, holidays, etc. will also be given through these mediums. Provide targeted assistance students remedial help through after school tutoring with their teachers or through the LEAP after school program, or in an extra math or reading connections class. Issue progress reports/report cards every nine weeks to inform parents of their students behavior and academic progress.
What is a School Plan for Shared Student
Achievement? Loganville Elementary is a Title I School as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). All Title I schools must jointly develop with parents a written parental involvement policy. This policy describes how Loganville Elementary will provide
opportunities to improve parent engagement to
support student learning. How is it developed? Loganville Elementary welcomes parent input and comments at any time regarding the policy. Parent feedback is used to review the policy and revisions are made each year. Parents can find a Feedback form on the bottom of this paper, the school website (www.loganvilleelementary.org), or the school office. Who is it for? All students and their families are encouraged and invited to fully participate in the opportunities described in this plan. Loganville Elementary will provide full opportunity for the participation of parents with limited English, parents with disabilities, and parents of migratory children. Where is it available? Every student will receive a copy of the plan at the beginning of the school year. Parents can view or retrieve a copy of the plan in the Parent Resource Center or from the school website. The plan will be distributed to parents at the Title I Annual Meeting and at Title I Parental Involvement meetings throughout the year. Loganville Elementary invites all parents to join us in sharing ideas and ways to involve other parents to build partnerships with school, families and the community. We value suggestions on how to allocate funds reserved for parental involvement activities. We will offer the Title I Annual Parent Meeting on September 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the LES Gymnasium. Our Title I Parental Involvement meetings will be October 2nd (1:00p.m.), December 11th (1:00p.m.), March 5th (1:00p.m.) and May 7th (10:00a.m.) in the Media Center. You may also submit your ideas or suggestions to the school principal, Camie McGaughey, camcgaughey@walton.k12.ga.us. Loganville Elementary is committed to helping our parents attend the parental activities listed in this plan.
