How to write a composition

Some ways to improve your style of

writing
1) You should make an outline or a plan of your own writing "Topic".
2) You should organize your main ideas and supporting ideas logically to
achieve coherence and clarity.
3) You ought to revise your rough draft to correct various types of errors.
4) Your paragraphs should have unity of the theme, coherence among ideas
and sub-ideas, complete coverage of these ideas, a well-organized mould of
writing enriched with a description, a proverb, examples, facts, and
statistics.
5) Your sentences should avoid prolixity and verbosity by shortening them
using for instance; adjectives instead of relative clauses or shorter infinitive
phrases in place of longer ones.
The writing process requires some detailed steps to be followed:
1) Pre-writing:
- Think about your topic, who will read it and why.
- Ask and answer questions about it; then list the words and ideas.
- Read carefully, take notes and then plan how you will express these ideas
best.
2) Drafting; (Write it down using Brainstorming) =
Writing
- Choose your best ideas and organize them.
- Write a first spontaneous draft and read it to others and listen to their
suggestions and comments.
3) Revising; (Make it better) = Rewriting

- Read attentively what you've already written, think about other

suggestions, and then add or take out parts.
- Change words or ideas to better ones and complete any unfinished
thoughts.
4) Proofreading; (Make it correct) = Editing
- Make sure that all the sentences are complete and check punctuation,
spelling, grammar and word use.
- Make needed corrections and have someone check your work; then
recopy youre your work of writing correctly.
5) Publishing: (Share it with others)
- Read it to others, display it at school and keep it in your work collection.
