students. In this class, you w ill r ead and study a var iety of

myths, and novels. Together,

occasional hom ew or k assignm ents, and extr a enr ichm ent m ater ials posted
on the w ebsite. All of the infor m ation for
this cour se w ill be found under the

We w ill be using phones and tablets often
in class. Please br ing a phone or tablet to
class w ith you. W hile in class, you w ill be
expected to use your device in an
appr opr iate, pr oductive m anner. If you
have concer ns about your device, please

m ater ials you need to be successful.

and those ar ound you.

thoughts and opinions on a r egular basis.

Hom ew or k Pol i cy
Hom ew or k is on tim e as long as it is tur ned in at the
beginning of the hour on the day it is due. Any late
hom ew or k m ay be tur ned in for half cr edit up to a
w eek after the or iginal due date. Late hom ew or k
tur ned in m or e than a w eek after the or iginal due date
w ill r eceive no cr edit. If you have a concer n about
m eeting a due date, you m ust speak w ith m e about
your concer ns as soon as possible befor e the due date.

Absen ce Pol i cy
You w ill have as m any schools days as you w er e going
to com plete any assignm ents. It is your r esponsibility
to find out w hat happens dur ing any classes that you
m iss. Upon your r etur n follow ing an absence, com e
see m e, and I w ill give you the appr opr iate notes,
handouts, etc. If you m iss a quiz, test, or in-class
activity, you w ill need to ar r ange a r easonable date
and tim e after school or dur ing tutor ial to m ake it up.
Please note: If you ar e absent on a day that an essay or
m ajor assignm ent is due, you m ust contact m e that
day, if possible, to m ake alter native ar r angem ents to
tur n it in.

Your gr ade is your r esponsibility. If you w ant a good gr ade, you w ill need to
w or k for it and m ake sur e you do ever ything you can to do w ell. M ake sur e you
tur n things in on tim e. M ake sur e you ar e paying attention in class and taking
notes. Do ever ything in your pow er to ensur e your gr ade is as high as you w ant it
to be. If you have a concer n about your gr ade, com e talk to m e about it as soon as
possible. The sooner you let m e know you have a concer n, the m or e tim e w e w ill
have w or k out any issues w ith your gr ade. Please m ake sur e you ar e checking
Pow er School at least w eekly so that you ar e up to date on your standing in class.
