Therapeutic Touch is a holistic, evidence based therapy that incorporates the intentional and compassionate use of universal energy to promote balance and wellbeing. Therapeutic Touch is rooted in the assumption that we are a pattern of energy. The practice of Therapeutic Touch promotes the removal of blocks, restores balance and supports the body to relax and heal. Quote from Dora Van Gelder Kunz, one of the co-founders of Therapeutic Touch: "Human beings have far greater depths within them than one might suppose. We all have access to these inner resources. They are not reserved for the few, the privileged or the especially gifted, for they are part of our human heritage." Therapeutic Touch (TT) is a method of using one's hands to assess the human energy field and facilitate its re-patterning. TT smoothes and balances the field and promotes relaxation and well-being. This workshop is designed to provide participants with basic skills in the technique of TT and its role in healing. Both theoretical and practical considerations related to using the technique will be discussed. No background in use of the technique is assumed. This gentle modality affects every level energetically resulting in a more holistic response. Learning about centering in relation to TT improves self care and personal wholeness as well. Many Health Care Practitioners have incorporated this modality into their practice, and found it to be helpful in both chronic and acute conditions.
